Is it just me or does it seem like 85% of people talking on here are 12 year old Football Manager players? Becuase some of the rubbish being writen is unbelivable! It seems to me, if you don't play for Chelsea or Man United or you're not a global superstar i.e. Ronaldinho, Messi, Kaka, Cannavaro etc then your a rubbish player! Do these people know there is 11 players on the pitch?
All teams need the superstars but also need the unsung heros. Who is the most Decorated player in Manchester United history? Charlton? Best? Keane? Giggs? No, none of the above. It is the massive superstar that was Dennis Irwin. Never in the limelight. Never winning any induvidual awards. Was he crap? Well he won nearly 20 medals and Alex Ferguson obviously didn't think so. He would won far less without the Giggs's, the Cantona's etc but they would have won less without the Irwin's.
All teams need unsung players or "ugly" players. Florentine Perez (former Real Madrid president) once asked why he was paying C. Makelele £50k-a-week. He promtly sold him to Chelsea. That was 2003. Now let me ask how may trophies Real Madrid have won since then? None, a big fat lonely zero! I'm not saying that Madrid haven't won anything soley because of that but its took until this year to replace him in M. Diarra and as we speak they are 2-3points of the top of La Liga.
Look at Brazil at the last world cup. Massive favourates before hand and rightly so. A team that included Cafu, R. Carlos, Lucio, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Adriano and Ronaldo. How could this team not win? Like at Real Madrid-not enough Dennis Irwin's.
Then I read That J. Carragher is rubbish. A player that has won every trophy except the league, rubbish? Is he not very good on Football Manager or something? In the real world he is one of the best Centre-HAlves in the Premiership, up there with Terry, Ferdinand, Gallas, King, Carvalho and so on. People who say otherwise are biased or just don't know the game or don't watch it. I'm a Liverpool fan and I can say that C. Ronaldo has been the best player this season, just a head of Drogba. I can see that and I'm not going to let my personal opinions of those teams affect my judgement. I HATE United and I know the feeling is mutual but Ronaldo has been fantasic this season. As much as I can't stand G. Neville, he is the best RB in the country but I put unsung hero S. Finnin up there with him these past two seasons. I'll wait for all the responses now saying S. Finnin is crap too, but just like Irwin he's an 8/ 10 every week performer. No nonesense, does his job and doesn't take any praise for it. All teams need them. so try thinking about it next time. I could quite easily come on here and slate Man United or Chelsea but I know good football and I know good players when I see them. Its a pity not every does.

I live in Germany and I know for a fact that the rumour about diego going to Real Madrid is true apparently real wanted him before but had Zidane and so he agrred to go to Porto but only until Zidane retired however after two years of bench warming real wanted to make sure he was still up for it and he has passed with flying colours. I've been to every home match for bremen and whilst i'll be sad to see him go his perfomances this year have been outstanding well done to whoever picked up on this rumour

Im the same guy who said Carragher was a good player but in no way best in th world, or the country. however, I totally agree with u on the England issue, the fans are ridiculous, we play brazil or portugal in a major tournament and the fans get all hyped up thinking we can win, but then we play israel away and some sections of the media say a draw would be acceptable, terrible. also, the squad is just a bunch of celebs, Frank Lampard, a decent enough player, but he's 28 and already he's wrote 2 or 3 books, ridiculous.

i do believe England have the talent to be a force in world football, but nt if we Carry on playin Lampard Crouch and downing, we need to field a team instead of 11 individuals.

This whole debate over England aswell is rediculous, I can't see for the life of me why England fans get really angry and disapointed at results, because lets face it, England have never been spectacular in any way. Its like some fans have this memory of England being the "Greatest International Team Of All Time". its never been like that at all, so I say its time for a change, drop the big names and the non-contributors and give soem of the lesser recognised players a chance, who have it all to play for. McClaren needs to grow some and stop being an "FA YES MAN"!

Im a Hibee and know from meeting the players he's a converted Dunfermline to Hibs fan.

Its funny to read in the papers every week that Rangers are in pole position to sign him as they are his "boyhood heroes". Even though he's not a Ger and the chances of him signing from them are slim to none.

But again what do you expect from the 'Scottish press'? They'll do anything to make Rangers fans happy and delude the rest.

On the Carragher issue I have to say I think the thing that keeps him out the England squad is the fact he has neva had 30mil splashed out on him like Rio Ferdinand. I'm a Spurs fan so I'm kind of neutral on the Carragher debate and I think that Carraghers week-in week-out performances are more impressive than rio's. Rio is a quality player as well but would it do any harm for the England squad to make a couple of changes and put the likes of Carragher or Baines on the field?

CARRAGER is a class act its just that Ferdinand and Terry work well together and are better dosent mean that he is a pooor player he is still Englands 3/ 4 choice CB and he never complains never been on drugs and is Liverpools unsung hero!

Warning to E. P. L & Euro Clubs:
Next season will be thierry Henry's best. Henry will come back fresher and more wiser. He has a lot of younger players with a lot of speed around him so he doesn't really need them famous sprints a lot. Dont be suprised if he leads the Gunners to E. p. l success and another champions league final. Thierry Henry is truly one of the best players to ever play this game and is the best ever French striker, and to all you fools who think that he will leave keep dreaming because thierry is staying at Arsenal ''for life'' and would probably even be the successor of Arsene Wenger as the manager of Arsenal in the future.

Me saying I dislike Carragher has nothing to do with who he plays for. I just don't think he is one of the best cbs in the world. and even thought I absolutely dispise Man Utd, I appreciate that they play entertaining football so I don't criticise them purely based on my hatred for the club. there is nothing worse than the media pumpin up certain players and making them out to be better than what they are, Carragher is a decent defender, he gets paid what he does for a reason, and he wouldn't be selected for his country if he couldn't play the game, but to say he is the worlds best or even Englands best, is surely naive.

Jamie Carragher is not near one of the best CB in the world, he isn't even in the top 10 in England. I just feel sorry for all you Liverpool fans who think that Carragher is one of the best. but I will say that Carragher is the best defender Liverpool has at the moment. I would even say that emManuel Eboue is a better player then him.

Critisize Carra all you want, but whos the one making a shed load of money and whos the one bitching about him on a website? You should pity yourselfs and respect that he would play any where for the country you live in and love. The time of saying rivals teams players are no good have past people, so appreciate the game and the players who entertain you. Yes Iam a LIVERPOOL FAN AND IM FCKIN PROUD OF IT Id also say YES John Terry is one hell of a defender, as is Rio Ferdinand. I may dislike the teams they play for but I appreciate the job they do for that team. Ask yourself (NOT BASED ON WHAT YOU MAY THINK NOW) would you be kicking the door down for Carra to be dropped if he was Chelsea's main CB or Man United's main CB. I don't think so. This season, in particular the afore mentioned teams have nearly identical defensive records, so what are you basing your critisism on? Territorial hatred of the club Carra plays for? Please, grow up will ya, a players qualities and ability are not deterimed by the club he plays for!

As a Newcastle fan, I agree, some Newcastle fans talk utter rubbish on this site. however, the Carragher issue, he is a decent centre back, but he is not anywhere near the best in the world, nor best in the Premiership. he's better than all of the Newcastle defenders yes, but that is not a compliment to him, but an insult to our squad.

People need to calm down I think. Firstly about Carragher. He's the best centre back at Liverpool and they wouldn't swap him for anyone. Chelsea wouldn't be without Terry and Man United without Ferdinand. All three teams would suffer if their top CB got injured-proof with Chelsea when Terry was out. Personnally Terry is the top CB in the world. Ferdinand is a diffent type as he is more classy in terms of dribbling and passing where as Terry and Carragher are both out and out stoppers. Becuase Terry might be that little bit better then both Ferdinand and Carragher does that make them both crap? I think not. Its like saying Messi is crap because Ronaldinho is better then him. Come on people take off your bais glasses and enjoy some of the best players in the world in our league. Dont believe people who caim to be "experts" on La Liga or Serie A. there just isn't enough on TV or in the papers to comment. Yes we no Nesta/ Puyol etc are class act but who has been watching them week in week out and Reading all the match reports (in Italian/ Spanish papers?) . There just isn't the coverage so stick to what you know best and talk about the premier league. I am open to all opinions but make it sensible please. I have to say Newcastle fans seem to be the worst offenders though. Tell me, how can a Newcastle fan stand there and slate Carragher when you team is crying out for a whole new back four. Bramble or Carragher? let me think.

What a load of bull I can't belive that some fool would actually even consider the possibilty that Almunia would be leaving the Gunners after how good he is playing but the real joke is that the same person thinks that Freddi will go for 7 mil. now I'm not a genius and I don't pretend to know everytrhing asbout football but can any one tell me the last time Freddi scored and the last time Almunia saved?

If Carragher is soo good, then we does he play second fiddle to the likes of Ferdinand, Terry and even King.
