Gascoigne shed tears in the semi finals of Italia '90 because he got himself booked which meant he would miss playing in the final if England beat West Germany but England lost out on penalties. After the World Cup, Paul suddenly attracted worldwide fame.
In May 1992 Lazio pay Spurs ?5.5 million for Gazza and he makes his debut for them in September of 1992. Then in July 1995 he moves to Glasgow Rangers for ?4.3 million and helps Rangers to gain an eighth SPL title in a row and is also named 'Scottish Player of the Year'

In February 2003 Paul scored a hat trick for Gansu Tianma on his debut. He came off the bench for the second half and showed that he has still had ability.

John Terry can play for Chelsea and England whenever he feels ready, according to an expert in facial injuries.
Terry was forced off with a fractured cheekbone during the Blues' draw with Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday following an aerial challenge with Clint Dempsey.
That raised fears Terry might be set for a long spell on the sidelines, ruling him out of the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia on October 13 and Russia four days later.
But after undergoing surgery yesterday to repair the damage to the bone, maxillofacial specialist Professor Peter Brennan insisted the timing of Terry's return is for the 26-year-old to decide.
'It is unstable and if you were to knock it again the chances are the bone would go back in and he would require another procedure,' Brennan told Sky Sports News.
'If he's willing to take that chance, there's no reason why he couldn't (play).'
Should Terry make an unexpectedly early return to action he would almost certainly have to play wearing a protective facemask, as modelled in previous years by the likes of Paul Gascoigne and Youri Djorkaeff.
And Brennan added: 'If it's the cheekbone itself that usually has a lot more symptoms – you have some numbness of the face, eye movements can be affected, double vision.'
