Mido says Boro are a similar size club to Spurs and he holds no grudges for former manager Martin Jol.

The £6 million signing was paraded as a Boro player for the 1st time at lunch time after signing a 4 year contract at the Riverside Stadium.

And Mido goes straight into the team that will take on Fulham on Saturday, where he is probably going to replace Ayegbeni Yakubu in attack.

The 24 year old's transfer to Teesside comes after he failed to become a regular at Spurs, where Jol spent £16.1 million on Darren Bent in the close season.

But Mido, inspite of being frustrated by a lack of opportunities at White Hart Lane, has chosen not to berate his old manager and is trying to focus on improving Boro's fortunes.

"I do not see Boro as being at a lower level than Tottenham," mentioned Mido. "I always remember when I signed for Spurs they were mid-table. In my 1st full season we finished 5th, only a point off a Champions League spot. I join an ambitious club here who are capable of finishing in the top six."

But, inspite of reports to the contrary, he inists that there is no anomosity between him and Jol.

"I have never had a problem with Martin Jol," mentioned Mido. "He is a good manager and has done really well in the last few years on Spurs. I have left because I would like to be playing and scoring goals. I would like to have a big position and I feel I will get that here. That is why I left and joined Boro."

Mido only hit 5 goals in 23 games last season and Boro have become his 9th club.

After moving to Belgium at 16, he played for Zamalek and Ghent before joining Ajax. After a fall out with Ronald Koeman, he was loaned to Celta Vigo and Marseille before joining AS Roma.

Now, after his 2 year stay with Spurs, he expects for better fortunes in the English Premier League with Boro.

The man Mido would replace is Yakubu, after he was left out of the team to face Fulham.

Manager Gareth Southgate had taken his team to London this afternoon and the Nigerian was not on the train, a further indication that he maybe about to leave the club.

Everton, Portsmouth, The Hammers and Manchester City are all interested in the forward.

Morocco sack coach M'Hamed Fakhir and selected Frenchman Henri Michel in his place, a top Moroccan football official mentioned Wednesday.

"We can said that Henri Michel has become the new national team coach," Abdelhamid Essaouiri of the Moroccan Royal Football Federation said.

"We signed the accord with him tomorrow after working out several details which are left to agree upon," he informed Reuters.

Michel, who was coaching Egyptian club Zamalek until he stepped down recently, arrived in Morocco Wednesday to hold talks with the federation.

The much-travelled 59 year old, who was in charge of Ivory Coast at the 2006 World Cup, had a previous spell as Morocco coach, steering them to the 1998 World Cup in France.

The federation gave no explanation for sacking Fakhir however local media was speculating he could be fired as soon as a appropriate replacement was found, citing his poor display since he is appointed late last year.

The confusion over Ahmed Fathi's reported move to Zamalek continues, after Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson denied all knowledge of such a deal.

According to the Egyptian Football Association, both clubs had stated that a transfer was concluded for the midfielder, however the deal was thrown into doubt after the player denied all knowledge of a move.

Robson has now stated that, as far as he is concerned, Fathi will be staying at Bramall Lane, and mentioned that the 22 year old is in his team for Saturday's trip to Colchester United.

"I have not heard anything about that," he said to the club's official website.

"Whilst the transfer window is open, people will always talk about players coming in and players going out, you can never stop the speculation. Ahmed was training with the boys and he's a big part of the team and, as far as I am concerned, he's a Sheffield United player."

Aside from saying that Fathi will be staying, Robson continued to say that he will remain in the search for a new midfield addition, however mentioned that current interest is failing to bear fruit.

He continued, "There is nothing to report at this moment in time. If I bring a player in, it requires to be a player better than the quality that we already have in the team, if that player does become available then I'll attempt to make it happen."

Christian Nade is unlikely to play for Sheffield United again after demanding a move, as stated by manager Bryan Robson.

The French under-20 international was omitted from the club's pre season photo and is not in the team for tomorrow's opening game of the Championship season against Colchester United

Robson, who strengthened his attacking options with the capture of James Beattie and Billy Sharp, said, "Christian is not in my plans. He says that he thinks he is not going to challenge for a 1st team place. He is a young lad, he is ambitious, and he would like to play 1st team football – so I have no quarrel with that."

Robson said that Championship rivals Bristol City are the only club to have expressed an interest in Nade since the collapse of a proposed £550,000 transfer to Hull City last month.

Nade, signed on a free transfer last summer from French club Troyes, started only 7 Premier League games and scored 3 goals that included the winner against Arsenal at Bramall Lane.

Robson has played down speculation linking midfielder Ahmed Fathi with a return to Eygpt only 7 months after his arrival in English football.

Reports in Eygpt say that Fathi will sign a 4 year deal with Cairo based Zamalek however Robson mentioned that there was no talks and the player will be in the team against Colchester.

Former manager Neil Warnock paid £700,000 for the 22 year old in the January transfer window however he played only 3 games before the end of the season.

Sherif, who is 20 years old, is one of the most shining talents in Egypt as he was the top scorer of the youth league and Egyptian youth national team.

He had a top record as he scored 57 goals in the youth league last season.

Ashraf also participated in the African Youth Cup of Nations with the Egyptian national team.

French coach Henri Michel has resigned as the technical manager of Egyptian club Zamalek after a disagreement with the club's administration.

Michel supposedly quit over the club's refused to sell the team's captain Hazem Emam inspite of his wishes.

The 59 year old informed his players he could be stepping down at their preseason training camp in France.

Although Michel failed to win any titles he was highly praised for developing the standards of the team.

Michel would like the club to release 3 of their player players, that included the team's captain Hazem Emam, however his demand was ignored by the officials.

The 31 year old midfielder has suffered poor form in recent years however it seems the popularity of the former Udinese player was too much for Zamalek's board to consider losing.

Michel had taken over at Zamalek in December 2006, was rumoured to be in talks with Moroccan officials about taking charge of the Atlas Lions.

He guided the Morocco to the World Cup finals in France 1998.

He also had taken Ivory Coast to their 1st World Cup finals this year where they performed honourably finishing 3rd in a group which included Argentina and the Netherlands.
