PFC CSKA Sofia have continued their recruitment programme by signing defender Quido Lanzaat on a free transfer from newly-promoted Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg.
The German club confirm the 27 year old centre-back, who helped his side earn promotion in May, signed a 2 year contract with CSKA, keeping him at the Bulgarian club until 2009 after Duisburg decided against renewing his contract.
Lanzaat, who was restricted to only 8 appearances in his only season at the club, had enjoyed spells with VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach, TSV Alemannia Aachen and TSV 1860 Munchen having started his career with AFC Ajax in his native Netherlands before moving to Mönchengladbach in 1999/00.
Lanzaat′s signing follows swiftly on the heels of those of Panamanian forward Jose Luis Garces and Montenegrin U21 international Nikola Vujadinović as CSKA step up their preparations for the UEFA Cup, which they will enter in the 2nd qualifying round next month.
