Charlton confirm 8 players have left The Valley after the club′s relegation to the Championship, with forward Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and defender Talal El Karkouri heading the list.
Hasselbaink, 35, scored only 2 Premier League goals for the Addicks after joining from Boro last summer whilst 30 year old El Karkouri netted 8 times during his 3 year spell with the club.
Goalkeeper Thomas Myhre and forward Kevin Lisbie, who once scored a Premier League hat-trick against Liverpool, have also left the club.
The other out of contract players to be released are Nathan Ashton, Rurik Gislason, Alistair John and Myles Weston, whilst James Walker, who enjoyed loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient and Notts County last season, was offered a new deal.
The Addicks sold player forward Darren Bent to Spurs for £16.5 million Friday.
