Partick Thistle sign Everton youngster Stephen Connor on a 6 month loan deal.

The 18 year old striker, who can also play on the wing, was capped by England at Under-16 level.

Connor recently featured for Everton during a challenge match against a N. Ireland select.

And the Wirral born teenager will go straight into manager Ian McCall's Jags team for the 1st match of the season away to Stirling Albion.

Hibs manager John Collins has scrapped signing talks with Cameroonian defender Thierry Gartheussi.

The 25 year old had impressed on trial with the Easter Road club however the deal has now collapsed, with Collins now turning his attention elsewhere.

"The deal is dead, it is disappointing it had taken so long for him to reply, however that is football," mentioned Collins.

"We have a few trialists for the same position coming in, so we will move on and see how they do."

International full back Gatheussi shone in the friendly triumph over Brechin City and during the club's pre season spell in Austria, before returning to France to consider his options.

Meanwhile, Collins informed the Edinburgh Evening News that Marisu Tomislav had not done enough to secure a contract, inspite of the Slovenian forward scoring the 3rd goal in Saturday's 5-0 triumph over Stirling Albion.
