Former Plymouth Argyle and Fulham defender Rufus Brevett is part of a consortium that has completed a £10 million takeover of Swindon Town.
Brevett is involved with the Portuguese consortium Best Holdings SGPS, an investment company who have bought out Swindon's previous owners the Seton-Wills family.
Brevett will take on the position of Director of Football at the League One club.
The former The Hammers defender made 13 appearances for Argyle after being signed by former manager Bobby Williamson in June 2005.
The Pilgrims sacked Williamson early in the 2005-2006 season and Brevett failed to make an impression under new manager Tony Pulis and was in the end loaned out to Leicester City where he made only one substitute appearance.
Brevett was released by Argyle in September 2006 and last season he played for Oxford United in the Conference League.
There are several Argyle connections at Swindon that included manager Paul Sturrock and his coaching staff of Kevin Summerfield, John Blackley and David Byrne.
Former Argyle players at Swindon include Hasney Aljofree, Steve Adams and Blair Sturrock.
