Bayern Munich star Willy Sagnol says he can see light at the end of the tunnel as the France international has been allowed by his German club's medical staff to return to training after his knee operation.
Bayern right back Sagnol has not played for seven months and was operated on his right knee injury last April.
The 30-year-old cannot wait to play again for the Bundesliga giants and to start his eighth season in Germany.
The former St Etienne player, who has an ambition to become Les Verts' chairman once his career is over, trained for the first time since his injury on Saturday morning.
'I am happy to see my team-mates again after such a long absence,' Sagnol told L'Equipe.
'I feel good and will do my best to return as soon as I can. I still have to wait for two, three or four weeks to play again.'

Marseille defender Taye Taiwo has been handed a two-match ban after being sent-off against St Etienne.
Taiwo picked up the ban after being dismissed during his side's defeat last Saturday.
His absence will further weaken a side that is struggling in Ligue 1, although the Mediterranean club has made an impressive start to their Champions League campaign, winning games against Besiktas and Liverpool.
Metz players Julien Francois and Cheikh Matar Gueye, Nancy's Sebastien Puygrenier and Johan Elmander of Toulouse have also been banned for one match.

Rangers defender Sasa Papac says he has turned down a move to St Etienne as he does not want to leave Rangers.
The French outfit have expressed their interest in the 27-year-old and got in touch with his agent with regards to a move.
However, the Bosnian says he was not interested in the move as he wants to stay and fight for his place at Ibrox.
"My agent called me to tell me about this opportunity but moving clubs wasn't in my interest," he revealed.
"It was the best decision to take. I am happy at Glasgow Rangers."
