French first division side Lorient have cancelled the contract of Tunisia defender Anis Ayari by mutual consent.
Ayari joined Lorient from Turkish club Samsunspor at the start of the season but has fallen out of favour.
"Both parties have agreed to terminate the contract so that Ayari can pursue a career elsewhere," Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff said.
"We were not satisfied with his performance and he was also not satisfied with being left on the bench."
Ayari started his European career in 2004 with Samsunspor after moving from local side Stade Tunisien.
He was a member of Tunisia′s under-23 team that exited in the first round of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
