UEFA president Michel Platini inspected Ernst Happel Stadium on Monday, the venue that will host the final of next year's European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.
Platini toured the stadium and gave it his blessing, but also noted that it was a bit dated.
"It's a good stadium, but naturally also an old one," Platini said. "You can't forget how long this stadium has been here. It has an atmosphere."
The 50,000-seat stadium was built in 1931 and renovated in 1986.
"It's surely going to be a very good tournament," Platini said after making a symbolic corner kick.
The president of European soccer's governing body was to inspect another stadium in the southern city of Klagenfurt, and then tour venues in Salzburg and Innsbruck.
Later this week, he will make stops at Swiss venues in Geneva, Basel, Bern and Zurich.
