Feb 15 2003: Partick Thistle have received an
approach about their top scorer Alex
Burns from Hibs. Thistle realise they have got a fight
on their hands to keep him but they don't want him to go to
a league rival, which is why they will hope to persuade Alex
Burns to go to another of the interested clubs, which
include Preston and Roda JC.
Feb 6 2003: Blackpool, whose manager Steve McMahon
has today signed a 12 month contract, are taking Preston
keeper Andrew Lonergan on a 3 month loan.
Feb 5 2003: Adam Eaton has joined Mansfield Town
on loan for the second time this season. The 22 year old Preston
full back has failed to hold down a first team place.

the signing of Brian Barry-Murphy from Preston North
End. The 24 year old has signed an 18 month contract

midfield.
Jan 29 2003: St Johnstone have
fought off a number of bids to buy Peter
Macdonald during the transfer window - but they realise
that they need to cut costs at the club and so they will let
him join another club in the summer.
Preston and Coventry are
keeping tabs on the 23 year old. Coventry will make a bid if
either they gain promotion or failing that they lose a lot
of players in the summer. Preston boss Craig
Brown, on the other hand, is desperate to bring him to the
club in the summer.
Jan 29 2003: Norwich are discussing terms with
Northern Ireland international striker, David Healy, from Preston
North End, about a month long loan. The 23 year old

million.
Jan 24 2003: Preston North End have
signed South African international striker, George
Koumantarakis, from FC Basel. The deal is until the end of
the season, with a view to a permanent move for an

work permit due to his dual Greek/South African nationality.
They have also allowed Finnish
international keeper Tepi Moilanen join Hearts on a 4 month
loan deal.
Jan 16 2003: Shrewsbury Town's young striking
sensation, Luke Rodgers, has
attracted a large number of enquiries about his
availability. These have come from clubs including Ipswich
Town, Sheffield United, Gillingham, Preston North End
and Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Birmingham born forward's high
workrate and his 13 goals have brought him to people's
attention but with him being contracted until 2005 he might
well be fairly expensive to buy.
