Bulgarian midfielder Mihail Aleksandrov is looking set for a transfer to Borussia Dortmund after being denied a UK work permit to join Liverpool.
The 18 year old passed a medical exam, agreed terms and had looked set to join compatriot Nikolay Mihaylov at Anfield however failed to meet Home Office requirements.
"My transfer to Liverpool did not go through as I did not get a work permit," the youngster confirmed. "Receiving such a permit is a very complicated issue. I was very disappointed with this however now I am looking forward."
The CSKA Sofia player immediately started looking for another club after his English dream was shattered and, after a successful trial at Dortmund, said that he is close to a Bundesliga switch, inspite of picking up an injury during his stay at the club.
"I sprained an ankle only before the end of the last friendly match however it is nothing serious," he declared to Bulgarian newspaper 'Tema Sport'.
"Now I am feeling much better and soon will be 100 percent fit. I hope I will receive an offer to sign for Borussia and expect things to be resolved within in the coming days."

Manchester City sign Bulgaria winger Martin Petrov from Atletico Madrid for £4.7 million.
The 28 year old has passed a medical and joins on a 3 year deal, subject to receiving a work permit.
Petrov, whose former clubs include CSKA Sofia and Wolfsburg, becomes new manager Sven-Goran Eriksson's 4th signing after Rolando Bianchi, Gelson Fernandes, Geovanni.

PFC CSKA Sofia have continued their recruitment programme by signing defender Quido Lanzaat on a free transfer from newly-promoted Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg.
The German club confirm the 27 year old centre-back, who helped his side earn promotion in May, signed a 2 year contract with CSKA, keeping him at the Bulgarian club until 2009 after Duisburg decided against renewing his contract.
Lanzaat, who was restricted to only 8 appearances in his only season at the club, had enjoyed spells with VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach, TSV Alemannia Aachen and TSV 1860 Munchen having started his career with AFC Ajax in his native Netherlands before moving to Mönchengladbach in 1999/00.
Lanzaat's signing follows swiftly on the heels of those of Panamanian forward Jose Luis Garces and Montenegrin U21 international Nikola Vujadinović as CSKA step up their preparations for the UEFA Cup, which they will enter in the 2nd qualifying round next month.

Teenage CSKA Sofia midfielder Mihail Alexandrov will join English Premier League club Liverpool next week, the player mentioned Monday.
"I'll join Liverpool on July 9," mentioned the 18 year old Alexandrov after passing his medical in Liverpool.
"I have reached an agreement to sign a 3 year contract with an option for a further 2 years."
Alexandrov, considered one of the rising players in Bulgarian football, is the 2nd Bulgarian to join Liverpool recently after goalie Nikolay Mihaylov signed a 3 year contract last Wednesday.
