Celtic are poised to sign Scottish Cup final goalscorer Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe on a 3 year contract.
The Cameroon international was on loan from Rennes when he scored the late winner against Dunfermline Athletic.
But the 28 year old expects to return to the Scottish champions after becoming a free agent.
And his agent, Willie McKay, said to Record PM, "I am hoping to get something sorted out with Celtic over the next few days".
Perrier Doumbe, who also played for Auxerre, arrived at Celtic Park in January.
He did not break into the 1st team until April, however he impressed in his 5 appearances thereafter and capped it all with the goal that sealed the league and cup Double.
"The player was offered a 3 year deal however has not signed anything yet because he was away on holiday", mentioned McKay. "We will be addressing the situation as soon as he returns".
Meanwhile, former Celtic midfielder Bertie Auld expects 2 Italians linked with Celtic can make a similar impact in Glasgow as Paolo Di Canio.
Reports in Italy claim Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is close to signing Sampdoria midfielder Gennaro Delvecchio and AC Milan winger Massimo Donati in deals worth £5m.
"I remember Fergus McCann, the man who used to own Celtic, speaking to me in Las Vegas after he has only signed Di Canio and he asked me what kind of player I thought he was", mentioned Auld.
"To be truthful, even though I thought he was a good player, I thought he was at the wrong end of his career. But, when he came, he was a bit special and he played for the jersey".
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has already added Scott Brown and Chris Killen from Hibs and Scott McDonald from Motherwell to his squad.
NAC Breda forward Maceo Ritgers is the latest name to be linked with the Scottish champions.
And Auld is concerned at the require to look outwith the club′s own youth system for new talent.
"We′ve won the reserve league about 6 times in a row and the under-19 league 4 or 5 times before this season", he said.
"But, at this moment, there are no players ready to come through, which is the bit strange. At Celtic Football Club, the motto has always been, ′the reserve team today, the 1st team tomorrow′".
