21 October 2007 Gamba Osaka stayed in the J-League title race on Sunday with a 4-0 thrashing of Ventforet Kofu.
The three points puts the 2005 champions six points behind leaders Urawa Reds who won at JEF United the previous day.
Gamba were ahead in the fifth minute thanks to Shinichi Terada and goal machine Magno Alves made it two on the ten-minute mark.
Takahiro Futagawa added a third seven minutes before the break.
Terada grabbed his second and Gamba's fourth with 17 minutes remaining and there was still time for Masafumi Maeda to get in on the act.
The result means that Ventforet stay in the relegation zone.
In the day's remaining fixture, FC Tokyo won 1-0 at Nagoya Grampus Eight.
