RSC Anderlecht striker Mohamed Tchite was named as Belgium′s Player of the Year by his fellow professionals on Sunday evening.
The 23-year-old was presented with the award in a ceremony at the casino in Spa. The Congolese striker succeeds team-mate Mbark Boussoufa, who won the award last season while at KAA Gent.
Tchité, nicknamed ′Memé′, took the prize this season ahead of team-mate Ahmed Hassan and KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen striker François Sterchele.
Tchité played a big part in Anderlecht′s 29th title success this season, scoring 20 times to finish one goal behind Sterchele in the Belgian scorers ranking.
Elsewhere, Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia was named as Young Player of the Year while team-mate Daniel Zitka won the prize for the best goalkeeper and was also handed a special ′Twelfth Man′ award, voted for by supporters.
Hugo Broos was named as Coach of the Year after leading KRC Genk to the runners-up slot, Gent goalkeeper Frédéric Herpoel won the Fair Play award while Jérôme Efong Nzolo was honoured as Belgium′s top referee.

Anderlecht stretched their advantage at the top of the Belgian Jupiler League to five points with a 1-0 win at Cercle Brugge.
Mohamed Tchite scored the matchwinning goal of Friday′s only Jupiler League game after 14 minutes to seal the points.
Eleventh-placed Cercle Brugge are safe from relegation but are too far from the European-qualifying spots.
