Sven Goran Eriksson's Serie A spending spree is not over yet, as Manchester City now would like Roma defender Matteo Ferrari.
The former Lazio manager has already bought Rolando Bianchi and Valeri Bojinov, whilst he has bids for Juve defender Giorgio Chiellini and Palermo midfielder Mark Bresciano turned down.
It is now reported he has made a £4 million offer to Roma for defender Ferrari, who has Premier League experience with Everton.
The Algerian born 27 year old only made 8 appearances for the Goodison Park club and has struggled with injuries throughout his career.
Ferrari mentioned in the summer he was hoping to make himself a permanent fixture at Roma, especially now that Cristian Chivu has moved to Inter.
The lure of the big money at Eastlands would change his mind, though.
Ferrari is an Italian international with 10 caps to his name.

Matteo Ferrari's agent has scotched reports the Roma defender is on his way to French club Olympique Lyonnais.
'I have had no authorisation from Roma to negotiate with other clubs,' assured representative Gianni Cori.
'Matteo is not on the market, even if I have received lots of inquiries about him from several different sides.'
The former European U21 champion was linked with the French giants who have won the last 6 consecutive Ligue 1 titles.
'Around 6 weeks ago, Roma director of sport Daniele Prade assured us he would like to extend Ferrari's contract for another 3 or 4 years,' continued the agent.
'This was not the lead up to a sale, as Matteo is a firm part of the Roma project. We will gladly accept the Giallorossi's offer, in part because they allowed him to relaunch his image after 2 years that were not up to standard.'
The 27 year old was born in Algeria and one of the most promising young players of his generation, however never quite delivered upon that potential.
Ferrari has played for Inter, Genoa, Lecce, Bari, Parma, Roma and Everton, where he managed only 8 Premier League appearances in 2005-06.
