Mancini Rumours and Transfers

Internazionale striker David Suazo has been banned for one match following his dismissal in the UEFA Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven.

Two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic clinched victory for Inter in the Group G match earlier this month, before Suazo was red carded in the final minutes for using an elbow.

The Honduras international, who had only come on as a substitute in the 61st minute, will now miss Inter's next Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow on 23rd October.

He will come back into contention for the home game with the Russian a fortnight later.

Suazo, who only joined Inter from Cagliari in the summer, has had to compete with the likes of Adriano, Hernan Crespo and Ibrahimovic for a place in Roberto Mancini's side this season.

The agent of Roma winger-forward Amantino Mancini has made it abundantly clear that the player will have to be offered a new contract.

Roma and Mancini have been locked in contract talks, and with a resolution not appearing close, the player's agent has decided to go public.

While taking a 'softly-softly' approach, Gilmar Volez made it clear that only a new offer would do.

"Mancini has a contract until 2009 and must give his all for the club," began Veloz.

"I have already had a conversation with Rosella Sensi and that was enough for me to understand that the club want to keep hold of my client. She has also had words with the player himself where she confirmed that intention to him as well."

Of course, the intention has not been translated into an actual agreement, something that has even puzzled some of the Giallorossi faithful.

However, Volez decided to keep it gentle: "I have nothing to say against Roma. There are no problems at the moment, and the club directors have presented themselves very well in these months."

Roma winger Amantino Mancini is reported to be desperate to leave the Giallorossi as soon as possible, with French club Lyon a possible destination.

Stories that Mancini is unhappy in Rome have been floating around the Italian press for quite sometime and the Brazilian is believed to not get on with Coach Luciano Spalletti.

However Mancini offered a public show of affection before Tuesday's Champions League match with Manchester United.

'Spalletti? I have a good relationship with him,' the 27-year-old said. 'At times he chooses to tell me off but this is a good thing that he does this.'

Nevertheless the Gazzetta dello Sport is today reporting that despite these comments, Mancini has made up his mind to leave. He has recently broken up with his girlfriend Roberta and wants to move away to avoid the constant publicity regarding their relationship.

Mancini was linked with a move to Lyon in the summer and the player has told his agent, Gilmar Veloz, to organise a move to the French champions during the January transfer window. Veloz is due in Rome this month for talks over a new contract but it now appears that Mancini is determined to leave the Eternal City.
