UAE President′s Cup champions Al Wasl leaped to the top of the UAE League following a 3-0 victory against early pacesetters Al Wahda on Thursday.
Al Wahda were reduced to 10-men after just 17 minutes as French striker Mamadou Bagayoko was dismissed and after a goalless first half, Al Wasl took advantage of their numerical advantage after the break.
Brazilian striker Oliveira broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart before compatriot Anderson doubled the advantage with 16 minutes remaining.
Oliveira completed the scoring four minutes later with a stunning sole effort to hand Al Wasl hold a one point lead over AFC Champions league qualifiers Al Wahda at the top of the table.
Elsewhere, Al Ain, the UAE's other continental representative, claimed their sixth league win of the season as Iraqi midfielder Hawar Mulla Mohammed's 54th minute strike secured a 1-0 win over Al Nasr.
In Thursday's other game, Togolese striker Dodzi Dogbe's brace handed Al Fujairah a 2-0 win against Al Shaab.
