Defender Lee Mair has suffered a knee-ligament injury in Sunday's dismal 1-1 draw with Hearts.

He was substituted at half time after making his 1st start for Aberdeen, which was also his home debut.

The injury is another blow to the ex Dundee United player who has had his fair share of injuries in the past.

Aberdeen fans will be hoping that he will not end up being injured for the rest of the season, which was the due to his last knee injury.

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood said, "The news is that Lee could be out for up to 6 weeks with knee ligament damage".

Dutch amateur forward Robert Fik has discarded the chance to join Aberdeen.

The 26 year old passed a medical after a successful trial with the Scottish Premier League club however stalled over the offer of a one year deal.

WKE forward Fik has now decided to remain in the Netherlands as he did not want to uproot his family.

Dons manager Jimmy Calderwood had hoped to make Fik his 5th summer signing, however the Dutchman turned down the offer after being have given a Friday ultimatum.

Dutch winger Jeffrey de Visscher, former Charlton youngster Johnathan Kurrant and Scottish defenders Lee Mair and Jackie McNamara have all signed for the Dons in the summer.
