Bristol City have decided not to give a deal to out of contract Celtic forward Kjartan Finnbogason after a trial spell at Ashton Gate.
The Iceland U21 international turned down a new deal at Celtic Park to further his 1st team chances.
He played 45 minutes in all 3 of City's games on their pre season tour.
City manager Gary Johnson informed the club website, "He would have been behind 2 or 3 of our current lads in terms of getting a 1st team place."
Finnbogason, 21, has also had a trial spell at Swedish club IFK Gothenburg.
He arrived at Celtic Park from KR Reykjavik along with midfielder Theodor Elmar Bjarnason in December 2004.

Gary Johnson claims that Bristol City offer a trial to Celtic forward Kjartan Finnbogason.
The Robins will take the Iceland U21 international on their pre season tour to Latvia as they assess whether he maybe a useful asset in their Championship campaign next season.
Finnbogason has turned down a new contract at Celtic Park due to a lack of opportunities and Johnson thinks he is keen to make the move to England.
"We have watched Kjartan several times and we like him," mentioned Johnson.
"There are several clubs interested in him out in Scandinavia however he has promised me he will not make any decisions until he has had a trial with us. I have spoken to him and his representatives. I was making the right sort of noises, telling him what he is good at and what he is not so good at and how I think I can improve him. He is only young however he would become a top player. At this moment in time he would like to join Bristol City if we make him an offer."

Bristol City will take Celtic forward Kjartan Finnbogason on trial.
The Iceland U21 international has turned down a new deal at Celtic Park and is out of contract in the summer.
Finnbogason's agent, Olfaur Gardarsson, informed the Western Daily Press, "He will probably go to Bristol in July and go on their trip to Latvia. He could go on trial at a Scandinavian club before July, as it is mid season in Sweden, however he will not sign for anyone before he was to Bristol."
Finnbogason arrived at Celtic Park from KR Reykjavik along with midfielder Theodor Elmar Bjarnason in December 2004.
But, whilst Bjarnason has featured as a substitute for the Scottish champions, his Icelandic team mate has preferred to move on in the search of 1st team opportunities.
