Kevin Kilbane
Birth Date: 01/02/1977
Birth Place: Preston
Birth Nation: England
Height: 184cm
Weight: 80kg
Nationality: Irish
Position: Midfielder
A left sided midfielder normally, Kilbane started his career with home town club Preston North End before joining West Bromwich Albion in 1997 for 1million - the Baggies first ever million pound player. While there Kevin developed a reputation as the finest left winger outside the Premier League.
A move to Sunderland in 1999 for 2.5 million was a personal disaster with the fans failing to take to him after a number of dreadful performances, and then giving the fans a two fingered 'salute' during a friendly.
Despite usually playing as a left winger in two of his final 3 seasons with the Mackems he failed to gain a single assist!
To the delight of the Sunderland fans he joined Everton in September 2003, and to their disbelief they even received ?750,000 for him (the full total was 1.1 million due to Everton negating the money owed on the transfer of Gavin McCann to Sunderland).
Kevin's career with Everton has hardly set the world alight with him being used as a left sided utility player. He has played left back, left wing, left midfield and centre midfield but again has failed to convince the fans of his worth.
Despite this Kilbane remains popular with other players and his managers, he was even nicknamed Zinedine Kilbane by the republic of Ireland squad, though it can't help being seen as an ironic nickname.
