Liberia's Jimmy Dixon has joined Swedish premiership club Malmo FF but his compatriot Dulee Johnson is frustrated in a move away from AIK Solna.

Dixon joins Malmo on a three year contract from another Swedish club BK Hacken, who have recently been relegated.

"This is a dream realized. Malmo is a club with a promising future that I want to be a part of," the 25-year-old central defender said.

Malmo will be hoping that Dixon can bring some much needed stability to their defence that conceded 39 goals in 26 league matches last season and saw them finish 7th in the table.

Malmo director, Hasse Borg, is happy with the deal: "This is a player we have wanted for a long time. We are happy to have completed the deal."

Meanwhile, Dixon's compatriot, midfielder Dulee Johnson is still being frustrated in his desire to leave his Swedish club, AIK Solna.

Solna are attempting to extend Johnson's contract without his consent.

Earlier this year, the Liberian international joined AIK on a one year deal with an option to extend for a further two seasons.

The club maintain that they do not need Dulee's consent to extend the contract, a position which the player has rejected.

According to the Swedish media such one-sided contracts are illegal.

Sweden have called up Teddy Lucic, Stefan Ishizaki and Fredrik Berglund for Wednesday's UEFA EURO 2008 qualifer against Liechtenstein, replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and two other players axed for staying out late. The decision by coach Lars Lagerback to send home Inter Milan striker Ibrahimovic, as well as Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg and Nantes midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson, created banner headlines in Swedish media.

One newspaper reported that the fiery Ibrahimovic had said he would refuse to play for the national side again, although he later told Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport that he was sorry for what happened. "Personally I am very unhappy about the tense situation which has been created on the eve of an important match like the one with Liechtenstein," he told the newspaper.

"The reaction of coach Lagerback seemed exaggerated to me, but I accept his decisions and apologise for my lateness in going back to join the rest of the squad, (I apologise) to the coach, to my team mates and the Swedish Federation." The Swedish soccer association said in a statement that Lagerback had drafted in Lucic of Swedish premier league side BK Hacken, Berglund of FC Copenhagen and Ishizaki of Elfsborg. Sweden won their opening qualifier 1-0 against Latvia in Riga on Saturday with a Kim Kallstrom goal.

Struggling Hacken have signed teenage midfielder Ari Skulason from Icelandic side Valur.

The 19-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Gothenburg outfit, who are currently third bottom of Allsvenskan - the relegation play-off spot. The side have failed to score for three straight games and are hoping the Icelander can help them climb away from the drop zone.

Sporting director Carl Fhager is excited about the signing, saying: "He is quick and technical and he will be competing for a spot in the starting line-up immediately. Besides, he is so young that we see him as a big future prospect. We have had our eyes on him for a long time."
