Southampton have been rocked by the news that Bradley Wright-Phillips is facing two weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The striker picked up the injury during the impressive 2-1 win at Sheffield United at the weekend and Burley is coming to terms with the fact he will be out for a couple of weeks.
"It's disappointing because Bradley's looking fitter this season, very fresh, lively and he's been in the starting line-up a lot," Burley revealed.
"He made the first goal for Grzegorz Rasiak on Saturday with a lovely reverse pass so I'm disappointed for the boy because he's got to have two or three weeks on the sidelines and start again. But we've got Marek and Stern competing for places along with Grzegorz so we're certainly covered in that position."
