Burnley have moved on from Craig Dawson and Craig Bryson after financial issues blew both deals (West Brom asked too much, and Derby giving Bryson a new contract Burnley could not compete with).

The Clarets are now in talks with Wigan over the signing of Ivan Ramis. Wigan want around £2.5 million for the Spaniard. Burnley have also initiated discussions with Nottingham Forest over the signing of Henri Lansbury, with the player keen to get back to the Premier League. There is currently a large gap between what Burnley are willing to pay and what Forest want however.

Ramis would be a good signing for us.

Celtic look favourites to sign Stoke and Ireland international Jonathon Walters in a £3million deal. The hard-working forward has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stoke City and Is set to be sold however Celtic expect strong competition from Crystal Palace

Real Madrid are looking at a potential deal for Stoke City Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic who recently turned out for Bosnia in Brazil

02 Jul 2014 15:20:22
Since when was Deeney rated at £5m?

Hertsagent

02 Jul 2014 18:11:58
Deeney is definitely rated at above £5 mil, as Watford have already rejected a £5 mil offer from Norwich. Also, Troy isn't 'looking for a move' i.e. he doesn't actively want to leave, but if the club accept an offer then he will probably leave. General consensus is that Deeney is worth between £6-10 mil, with 6 being the absolute lowest, and 10 being the absolute highest. More likely to be 7 or 8 mil though.

PozzoHornet

Troy Deeney isn't worth £5 million. Not proven at the highest level.

Jimrangers69

Deeney might not be proven, but he is definitely good at championship level, and if he isn't too bothered about wanting to move, then Watford will want to price him as high as possible. If you remeber Austin was sold for around 4.7m and he wasn't proven at the highest level either. (Yes QPR were a championship side, but with their money they wanted immediate promotion, which they got. So Austin was an investment in the hope he can take his scoring to the next level. )

Rjeg

Austin, cost 4 million. And was a main reason why we got promoted. priceless!
Your kidding yourself if you think Deeney doesn't want to play in the premiership.

Jimrangers69

03 Jul 2014 11:43:59
If Deeney isn't worth £4M then whay have both Norwich and Burnley been turned down with £5M bids and Burnley are looking at submitting a £6M bid?
Deeney does want to play in the Premier League, but AFAIK is not looking for a move and is not the type of person who will force a move.

gloryhornet

Your reading too many papers mate.
Deeney will not being going up North or to another championship outfit.
.

Jimrangers69

-Jimrangers69. Sorry I got my figure wrong (I was writing from a faulty memory). But unless a club like burnley is prepared to take a risk and sign Deeney, then where is the experience at the highest level coming from? He has to be given the chanc to prove himself. However, I do agree that Deeney will be very tempted by the opportunity to play in the premiership, no matter what he previously said. Anyway if the gable did pay off, and Deeney is a success, the 5m isn't to bad for a good player, if it turns out to be a flop then its a big chunk of money gone. We'll just have to wait and see what business Dyche gets up to!

Rjeg

14 Jul 2014 22:39:29
In light of the McCormack deal, Deeney will go for no less than £9m, probably more, with add-ons and a sell-on fee. Of course, no-one will take this offer (not looking at the figures being bandied about at the moment anyway) so Deeney will probably stay at the Vic this summer. I say this because McCormack is about 2 years older than Deeney, has less goals over the past 2 seasons AND had handed in a transfer request. Pretty funny how some people valued Deeney at £5m or even less!

West Bromwich Albion are interested in Robert Snodgrass from Norwich who declined a 1-year extension at Norwich in the hunt for Premier League action. It is thought a 6 million bid would be enough.

This rumour is unreliable, he isn't worth 6 million, but he is a great player.

25 Jun 2014 05:44:59
This would be a fantastic addition to our midfield, he is a great attacking player someone who may replace players like Morrison/Brunt/Dorrans who would properly leave if he came in. As someone said above 6 is a lot to pay but 4/5 would be a great deal.

JP33

25 Jun 2014 10:31:50
Every player has their price, not sure what it would take to sell. The fact is that Norwich have no need to sell so that will affect the fee that they command regardless of whether he wants to go or not. He isn't worth £6m even with a 3 year contract so I expect £4m will be adequote. Good attacking player but can't cross a ball.

NCFCcrazy

25 Jun 2014 13:05:43
It has already been confirmed that Hull have had a 6 million bid rejected. It will take north of 7 for anyone to push this through.

The part about a 1 year extension is ridiculous, if a new contract has been offered it would be 3 years, no one would offer a 1 year extension to a 26 year old who is one of the biggest assets to the team. He may have rejected a 3 year extension, but nothing has been publicised about this.

With regard to Norwich, if we get 7 million I would take the money and run. he's a very good player but I cannot help but think his presence in the team has hindered our strikers chances. He scores a few goals but he doesn't get early crosses into the box as he is a left footer on the right side of midfield. He has to cut inside to deliver a cross which is easier to defend than someone with pace beating a man and swinging one in with the right foot. If him leaving means Redmond moving to the right and Pilkington or another Left footer playing on the Left then I will be very very pleased.

George Thorne hands in transfer request at West Brom alerting both Derby County and Burnley who will battle it out for his signature. Thorne spent time on loan at Derby last season and Steve Mcclaren is keen to sign him on a permanent basis but face tough competition from Burnley who can offer him premiership football which will be likely to sway Thorne to join the clarets. Burnley ManagerSean Dyche is also keen to sign Thornes WBA team mate Dawson and hopes to have both signed up before the players report for pre season training

Would be very surprised at either signings. Enoch is the wrong age and has a scoring record of approximately one goal in six games. Burton will be looking at younger players or with a proven goal scoring record.
