Paterson to Coventry. You are having a laugh!!

22 May 2013 21:33:54
Is this just the west mids, I always thought the midlands involved all of it not just the brummies!

No way Norwich will buy two central defs. We have three quality CB's in Turner, Bassong & Bennett. All three are better than Ridgewell & C. Davies.

Grigg's not going anywhere

Ridgewells a left back.
And west brom will bring in more players than that!

22 May 2013 17:25:06
Cameron Belford, released BUry goalkeeper is being linked with a move to Walsall, promising young keeper who has made over 100 league apperarances for Bury amongst others

Going to afc wimbledon

22 May 2013 16:56:02
Walsall are to complete the signings of Bondz N'Gala and Mathias Doumbe by early next week. (very reliable source)

22 May 2013 12:01:01
Preston are set to sign Walsall contract rebel Febian Brandy. The ex Manchester United trainee is keen on moving back up north.

He has already had one trial at PNE two years ago, considered not good enough then but he did score against us at Deepdale last season.

PNE knocked Brandy back in 2011 when he was on trial with the club.

Why would he go back?

22 May 2013 17:06:58
Brandy will not sign for Preston

Different manager

Why would he go to PNE when he is at a better club with Walsall anyway?

New manager, he might come back

As a preston fan I'd love to see this but I just can't see it. To any Walsall fans saying their team is better, just wait till the end of the 2013/14 season.

22 May 2013 11:21:50
Exeter City striker Jamie Cureton could be set for a move to league 1 Walsall, with Febien Brandy and Will Grigg stalling on new contracts.

22 May 2013 08:52:52
Walsall ate to confirm the signings of Plymouth goalkeeper Jake Cole and Charlton midfielder Scott Wagsaff at the end of the week.

Cameron Belford is a real possibility for Walsall - haven't heard anything about Jake Cole. Or we could be signing McCarey on loan from Wolves again.
Source : Express & Star

21 May 2013 16:02:22
Walsall have offered a trial to former Birmingham city midfielder Morgano Gomis and former Burnley midfielder Chris Mccann {Ed016's Note - These players will join championship clubs}

Are you having a laugh. mccann hasn't signed a new contract cause we won't pay him the 12,000 he wants. doubt you can offer him that. he'll go somewhere like ipswich or maybe wolves.

22 May 2013 17:32:45
That's right - Burnley wanted McCann to take a 40% cut from £10,000 to £6,000 but he asked for £12,000 a week. A club might get him for £8,000 or £9,000 a week if he cannot attract a quick offer.

21 May 2013 13:42:16
Ashley Vincent in talks with Walsall after he rejected a new deal at Port Vale

21 May 2013 13:38:38
Walsall are in for Northampton player Widdowson and well Scott Wagsaff and Nicky Weaver

No there not mate, I know joe well and his not going anywhere

21 May 2013 09:45:56
Ex Arsenal youth full back/winger Jernade Meade is set to join Preston, Walsall or Crewe in the next week

20 May 2013 16:35:04
Walsall close to a 2 year deal for Plymouth keeper Jake Cole to sort ouot WFC goalkeeper problem. He rejected a new deal at Plymouth to join saddlers

20 May 2013 21:52:48
Seems a good keeper plus we need a consistent no1

I do hope so. He isn't that good. Means we can get a better keeper in.

I thought jake cole was amazing this season, pulled off some great saves. Would have been nice to see him and McCormick competing for a place.

Are your joking? he's CLASS!

He isn't class. How come he only gets signed by teams that will be battling relegation. Think it is 6 straight seasons now he has been involved in relegation battles.

Erm, I think you'll find that Walsall were pushing for the play-offs, not in a relegation battle.

Jake Cole is a good shot stopper but as for commanding his area and coming for crosses he is the worst I've seen at Argyle for many a year. How many goals did he give away fumbling crosses and punching down crosses into the middle of his area last season? A fair few I'd guess.

Cole saved us on a in a number of games!

20 May 2013 16:22:12
Walsall are talking with akinwenfa about a possible move. They have also nearly signed Scott wagstaff and nicky weaver. The bad news is will grigg is set to leave and join a championship club.

Grigg's not going anywhere but akinfenwa and wagstaff are as you say

19 May 2013 19:15:27
tv source for monday morning:
Swindon Town have sacked manager Kevin MacDonald (sunday night) after his poor run of results and loosing in the play offs. The club confirmed it was a only a short term deal until the end of the season.
Bookies favorites:
Kenny Jacket
Phil Brown (Southend)
Karl Robinson (MK Dons)
Ian Wright
Paul Dickov
Steve Lomas (St Johnstone)
Simon Greyson (Preston)
Danny Wilson
Dean Smith (Walsall)

Football has gone mad. In the play offs and sack the manager.

19 May 2013 20:04:31
Don't think this is true but I want it to be true as a stfc fan I want him out

Most likely Paul Dickov because the others are better than Swindon. The other managers already hold strong managerial positions

As if Grayson would leave Preston for Swindon, especially seeing as he's only been here 3 and a half months

20 May 2013 06:52:41
No way would dean smith go to Swindon he is a Walsall man himself

God please let this be true.

20 May 2013 10:11:35
Dean smith signed a new contract last season and wants build on the success he had last season excitin times ahead for the saddlers

KMAc is on holiday as is the Chairman/owner of town, so unless he is going to sack him from his sunbed via Sype, not likely

Dickov has the Doncaster job.

Well for the dreamer who made the pathetic story up about kmac getting the sack today and Stuart Pearce taking over? Well dreamer it's now 20. 30 and still kmac is the manager! Why spread silly rumours, do you get off on it, get back to smoking that funny stuff in your pipe my friend as you are deluded and have a problem.

This is b*******! K-Mac wouldn't get sacked now, that would be a stupid decision if that happened.

Re read post. won't e announced until pearces contract with fa ends in summer. read post properley before dismissing it. pearce to swindon will happen-just wait and be patient

You don't know what your talking about mate Pearce has another year to run on his contract, unless you are the one that gave him it?? Lol

You re-read the post, the one that say's Stuart Pearce will be next STFC manager is the tard above, not the tard who posted this one. Anyway it didn't happen. And Jed has Tweeted how pleased he was with the finish considering what has happened this season.

19 May 2013 17:38:28
Seen as Yeovil Town are a Championship team now they are looking to bring in:
Fabian Brandy (Walsall) to partner Paddy Madden up front
Richard Wood (Coventry)
Scott Arfield (Recently released by Huddersfield Town)
Stephen McPhail (Cardiff City)

YEOVIL team to stay up for free

1 Alexander Rangers
2 Saunders Motherwell
3 Broadfoot Blackpool
4 Zaluikas Hearts
5 Webster Hearts
6 Barr Hearts
7 Davidson St Johnstone
8 McCourt Celtic
9 Boyd Kilmarnock
10 McFadden Motherwell
11 Driver Hearts
12 Samson St Mirren
13 Weatherspoon Hibs
14 Stevenston Hibs
15 Higdon Motherwell
16 Humphrie Motherwell
17 viguirs Ross County
18 Rogne Celtic

Unless Yeovil invest big time, they'll be straight back down on today's showing.

The thing is yeovil won't sign all of them 18 players you said^^

Yeovil are not playing in the spl?

If you get mcPhail, you have got a really good player and you will have a much better chance to stay up, but he could easily go to a bigger club

What do you mean on today's showing? They played a very good team and showed the resilience needed to win the game

Poor Yeovil won't know what hit them. They are going to have to set their sights a lot higher than this list if they are to survive with their dignity intact this coming season.

Poor Yeovil eh that's what every club have been saying for 10 years and we keep moving forwards. Funny how we are now above Portsmouth, Wolves, Sheff Utd, Coventry, Bristol City etc etc. poor Yeovil not got a chance yawn

Ha, I guess the top comment was from a city or rovers fan? How about you just be happy for us rather than be bitter

This is a tight league, and from what I saw of the play off final your in for a big wake up call, you will struggle.

20 May 2013 21:33:16
If Arfield goes to Yeovil he, l do good for them from a HTFC fan. he couldn't get in our teem. by the way congrats on your promotion see you next season

Yep base your opinion of the next season on one game. The fact is Yeovil have been fantastic all season and deserve to go up

Not saying you don't deserve to go up, and all credit to you for doing so. What I am saying is that I think you will struggle, and will need some quality signings from the championship or above to survive this season. Without them your in for a shock and likely to go back down. To be fair, the same goes for the rest of your promotion enterage.

There is a big gap between the championship and div1 now and its getting bigger.

If the gap is so big you'd expect far more relegated Championship sides to be able to go straight back up!

19 May 2013 13:37:37
Walsall set to sign free agents scott wagstaff and darren carter.

19 May 2013 14:19:13
Craig fagan, shelton martis and nicky weaver are close to signing aswell

We don't want carter smith has said it himself

Two good players

Walsall are always linked with darren carter i'm suppirsed we are not linked with kevin phillips so far, that normally happens to

Surprisingly we have but apparently he is retiring

19 May 2013 13:24:27
West Brom striker Saido Berahino (19) is to join local league one side Walsall on loan until January

The Baggies have offered Berahino's services to the saddlers as they believe their style of football will help Berahino progress and will be valuable first team experience for the youngster

Source David Oldfield (reserve team manager)

Clarke has lost it, he couldn't oaganise a raffle with two tickets, never mind pick the correct team to play utd

Leave clarke alone its his first season as gaffer and got us to 8th in prem and some people are still not happy deluded

How can you say he's lost it, made the correct subs at the correct time to inspire a fightback to 5-5
hes already a legend

A legend would have started with lukaku, dumped odemwingie months ago, sorted olsson out, we gwould have been relegated since dec, get real, defence is a joke don't we tackle anymore, :

What are you even on about? 8th in the league highest ever finish! Stop moaning you should be celebrating! No team is perfect, just enjoy the football maaan!

I suppose your not very happy because we didn't get champions league football lol
deluded

19 May 2013 12:05:42
League one side Walsall are in talks with released Doncaster goalkeeper Gary Woods
Woods worked with Walsall's first team coach Richard O'Kelly at Doncaster and has been recommended to manager Dean Smith by O'Kelly

Very dodge keeper

Would be a good signing for Walsall I have heard also that Martin woods is also going on a pay as you play deal to prove his fitness

Grigg and baxo to Donny has also been talked about

Baxo signed a deal not going to happen grigg I doubt too

19 May 2013 09:12:26
If Nyatanga was to come back to Oakwell I don't think that would be and thing. Bring in him, o'grady, a decent number 2 keeper and a few players with a bit of pace up top and they could do really well. Don't think Wells from Bradford would do much though, best option would be Febian Brandy from Walsall if anyone

Wells scores more goals than Brandy. Febian is more of a winger

18 May 2013 19:35:22
Rumour going round Northampton that Walsall are in talks with Cobblers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa's representatives over a possible move to the Banks's stadium

Akinfenwa has told Aidy Boothroyd he wants to play league one football next season and is expected to be leaving sixfields

He's retiring?

No he isn't

Yes he going to retire at 31 isn't he

He doesn't seem like a Dean Smith signing. I'd rather us keep Griggy and Westcarr

I would love the beast to come to Walsall

18 May 2013 16:12:53
Akinfenwa to Walsall after losing the League 2 play-off final with Northampton, said he would leave if they didn't get to League 1. Out of contract then end of this season

Wud luv it if its true and he does come

I can't see Bayo getting a new contract at Cobblers as Boothroyd prefers Platt

Bayo is a fan favourite at the Cobblers! He can hold it up well and bring other plays into the. He can also bag a few goals to! Please stay Bayo!

18 May 2013 15:16:53
Walsall's 2013-2014 football kit will be plain claret shirt white shorts with claret socks (a copy of the strip they played in 1888) no word on sponsor yet but the club may forgo a sponsor on their 125th anniversary kit. The club are also close to agreeing 1yr contracts with Will Griggs and Fabian Brandy.

Just heard the same, and that we are looking at a promising young keeper from Ireland!

Why would Grigg and Brandy sign a new 1 year contract when they can probably sign a 2-3 year contract elsewhere? Not going to happen, and I'm a Walsall fan! We've offered to double their wages (I presume on 2 yr deals), but it's apparently still not good enough.

I have been told that the contract is for 1yr so they are not tied down to the club long term and they can use the year to further promote themselves I. e. they will be in the shop window for a bigger clubs aka Aston Villa and Cardiff City

Mmmm think it may be claret shirts as a well known football kit site has changed their 1888 image from red and white stripes to claret shirts, I think it would be a nice touch

Kit is not going to be claret. I've seen the kit and its red with thin white stripes.

Red with thin white strips! That's the clubs 83-84 kit known as the Deeleys casting kit when we went on the milk cup run. We have Been there and done that! I have been told the club wanted to replicate the original kit which WAS claret

Where was this new kit seen

Check out the historic kit site, they have recently updated the 1888 kit from red and white strips to claret tops

18 May 2013 07:02:12
Goalkeeper Ian McLaughlin is set to turn down an offer of a new contract at MK because he doesn't want to sit on the bench and is in talks with Walsall where he was on loan

He's a good goalie he is. I'd love us to sign him, but I can't see it happening unless he really isn't going to get first team football next season.

He'll definitely get first team football at Walsall!

18 May 2013 00:48:23
Few Walsall rumours
All currently free agents
Francis McCaffrey (Hull) midfielder
Jack Deaman (Birmingham) defender
Shane Fagan (Coventry) goalkeeper
Eric Odhiambo (Denizlispor, former Inverness) striker

Out
Febian Brandy is wanted by Peterborough and Barnsley

Wanted by Peterborough haha no thanks

Febian brandy is class and I would want him to stay with walsall

Flicker would not signed a contract if he was not getting the budget he wanted, that's a fact, he will probably get the money from the sales of any players and around 3m to spend. the board know they have the right man in charge and will back him.

17 May 2013 20:14:40
Russ Penn has rejected offers from Walsall and another league two club to sign a two year deal as captain of Cheltenham.

17 May 2013 20:37:54
League one Sides Crewe, Oldham, Preston, Tranmere, Walsall and League 2 Bradford are all interested in signing striker Lee Novak

Also barnsley

18 May 2013 09:30:31
he will join preston rather than any of the other clubs he will join up with grayson

Excuse me league 1 bradford {Ed003's Note - Well done,congratulations}

Dont think he will come to Oldham, we are cash strapped.

We aren't cash stapped at oldham after our CUP run but our manager won;t waste money just on one player.

17 May 2013 18:01:41
Walsall fowards Will Grigg and Febian will leave the Club in the summer on a free.
Grigg 21, rejected a new contract and is strongly linked with a, number of Championship clubs.
Brandy 24, is linked with a move to join Charlton Athletic on a 2 year-contract.
Walsall however have signed up twins James and Adam Chambers on a 1 year contract.

Walsall Trialist in:

Charlie Sheringham
James Harper
Shelton Martis
Nicky Weaver
Simon Ferry
Onismor Bhasera
Calvin Zola
Scott Wagstaff

Will Grigg isn't a free transfer. He is out of contract but as he is under 24 and came through the youth system Walsall are entitled to a fee.

18 May 2013 06:57:46
Nicky Weaver is woeful, leave well alone.

Why would Charlton want a striker with a history of not being good enough for a number of lower league clubs whose 7 goals in 33 last year is his highest ever tally? I mean really?

Brandy isn't a goal scorer. He would only be decent at a Championship club as an impact player. Or he could play on the right wing, but it remains to be seen how good he'd be. Last season was his first decent season in ages. Skilful player, though.

17 May 2013 15:49:18

In:

Davebfc

Portsmouth don't need another keeper

Why would chesterfield want phil picken back he's rubbish

Dont want worrall at oldham. Seen him play about 4 times in the last two years. Not much I know but was not impressed

17 May 2013 14:43:33
Walsall have offered a 12 month deal to former Dundee forward Greg Birmingham with a 12 month extention in the clubs favour.
