AFC Wimbledon have already drawn up a list of potential targets to boost their chances of making a push for the playoffs next season.

Should Torquay be relegated from League Two, Wimbledon would like to be at the front of the queue to sign midfielder Damon Lathrope, who will be a free agent in the summer.

The Dons will also make similar moves in the summer for Wycombe's Dean Morgan, Portsmouth's Adam Webster and Bondz N'Gala, Northampton's Alan Connell, and also Gillingham's Adebayo Akinfenwa (who almost joined the club last summer). All of whom are out of contract at their respective clubs in a few months.

Wimbledon have also been keeping tabs on two players from local side Sutton United. Utility player Micky Spillane and former Wales international goalkeeper Jason Brown have impressed the Dons scouting team, and both have been in good form for the high-flying Conference South side. Both players have dropped down to non-league this season, but have plenty of experience playing in the Football League.

Brighton & Hove Albion are looking to bring in Finnish international centerback Tero Mantyla in the Summer transfer window. 22-year-old Mantyla plays for Ludogoretsh, the Bulgarian champions who knocked out Lazio and finished with top 16 position in Europa Liga. Mantyla was recently promoted to Finland's senior nationalteam.

Mantyla has already experience from England, he was in Portsmouth from '08 until '10. Another choice for Brighton is Ludogoretsh's Georgi Terziev who is Bulgarian u21 international. Both players are centerbacks and one of them is set to replace Matthew Upson next summer.

This info was in Bulgaria's newspapers last week. They wrote Mantyla is first choice

Well we need a replacement for Greer ASAP so this could be a good option

I am told Richard Money has been approached by Portsmouth as First Team Coach.

He is seen as a man to plot pompeys bid to stay up - but in the event of relegation the man to rebuild and get the side back in to the football league. he's done an amazing job on half the budget at Cambridge.

Brentford midfielder Toumani Diagouraga's set to join Pompey on a months loan

Botley Blue

21 Feb 2014 13:43:46
Cant see us winning tomorrow, Wolves are a very good team with a lot of quality, best I think we can hope for would be a draw which is what I think our game plan will be. We will try to stop wolves playing through the midfield which is what they like to do and hopefull reduce their attacking options. My prediction would be a 0-0. I think this will be a good point for both teams with games in hand on Orient. Brentford and Wolves, top 2 I think at the end of the season with Preston winning the play offs.

How many orient fans going to brentford? A full house? I have my tickets. Up the o's

19 Sep 2013 00:40:58
'' How many Orient fans going to Brentford ''?

Because its a midweek game, and televised, I reckon the best we can hope for is just over 1000. That is one in every four Os supporters ( based on our average 4000 home attendence.

If the game had been on a Saturday, we would have fetched 2000 plus.
There is no doubt that a great away support lifts our players, so Monday will really test the character of the lads. Its going to be difficult.

Up the O's.

Pompey are not continuing their interest in Dickson or fellow triallist Shane Byrne

03 Oct 2013 19:55:53
Orient's most prized asset Moses Odubajo will join Spurs in Jan, and then be loaned back to the O's for the rest of the season.

Part of the deal, worth up to three million, will involve Spurs highly rated youngster Shaquile Coulthirst, joining Orient on a long term loan.

Spurs original target Tom Ince favour's a move to either Man United or Inter Milan, and our North London Neighbours see Moses as a great alternative for Ince.

12 Oct 2013 11:42:58
Portsmouth have proberbly stoped casting their eye on Chris Dickson.

13 Oct 2013 19:58:04
Heard two weeks ago that Peter Taylor will be back in Management soon with a Div One Club. With Martin Allan just been sacked at Gillingham, it could well be that Taylor will get the nod.

Allan has done a decent job at the Gills, so this is a complete surprise. Must have upset a few people!

Come in Peter Taylor?

20 Oct 2013 00:05:29
Are Portsmouth still interested in Chris Dickson?

31 Oct 2013 14:11:46
Some up-to-date news on Chris Dixon.

Portsmouth have now lost interest in signing the Striker.
Dixon was last seen playing for Dagenham & Redbridge.

31 Oct 2013 17:07:16
Correction : Chris Dickinson

01 Nov 2013 14:56:32
Its not Chris Dickson, Dixon or Dickinson, but the man that pompy supporters will be hearing about, is Charles Dickens! born Portsmouth 1812.

Extracts from his books will be '' read out '' over the
PA system at the next home game against Exeter.

The pompey fans will also be asked to welcome back their old boy, by singing '' play on Dickens, Dickens play on ''

a bit different from the usual '' your going to get your. ''

11 Nov 2013 17:31:14
Orient Sign Robbie Simpson on long term loan. The
former Oldham, Coventry and Huddersfield striker is delighted to be joining Orient, and has been described by a former manager, as a ''great man to have in the Trenches with you. ''

28 Nov 2013 12:40:15
Stay tuned for a big turnover of Managers in the Premiership before Xmas. Three Managers who could be replaced shortly are Villas-Boas, Sam Allardyce, and Chris Hughton.

Inside rumours tell me the man Spurs want is Jurgen Klinsman. Could also be a busy time at West Ham and Norwich, with Mike Phelan getting the nod and a surprise move to tempt Glenn Hoddle to Upton Park.

28 Nov 2013 15:46:46
Cheeky Preston are apealling against Neil Kilkenny's odd sending-off recentely. The midfielder saw Red even though it appeared to be Joe Garner who clashed with Port Vale's Griffiths.
Garner stayed on the field and scored the two goals that beat Vale. The FA are understood to be very embarassed about the whole thing, claiming if Garner had been sent-off, the final score could have been different. This could also be unfair to the other clubs in the top six.

The FA, who have been watching the incident on film and studying reports from officials, will almost certainly want the game to be played again.

28 Nov 2013 17:39:40
Garner suspended for three games.

28 Nov 2013 18:09:49
Jayden Stockley has returned to Bournemouth from his loan spell at Orient.

07 Dec 2013 10:42:30
Right manager, wrong Club!

18 Dec 2013 14:32:22
Orient could make a surprise move for Kevin Phillips.
Phillips is surplace to Palace requirements, and would welcome a move where he has more chance of game time.
Orient manager Russell Slade will be looking to boost his Squad in Jan, and could well sign the experience striker on a short term deal.
Although now 40, he is still very fit. An inside source tells me, '' Despite his age, He could still do a good job for a lower league club.

20 Dec 2013 18:27:15
Phillips could well be playing for Wolves AGAINST Orient in 10 days time.

20 Dec 2013 18:43:37
Lee Gregory, Halifax, and Anthony Wordsworth of Ipswich, will be high on Leyton Orient's wanted list
in January.

26 Dec 2013 22:30:19

05 Sep 2013 22:26:22
Portsmouth have resigned Shaun Cooper on a free until January, This will be Coopers third spell with the south coast club

01 Sep 2013 10:55:26
Portsmouth will sign 36 year old and former Ipswich and Crystal Palace striker Shefki Kuqi on a free until January.

No. Portsmouth will be sign Jamie Ashdown on loan looking for a permanent move from Leeds United.

Agree with the call ref Ashdown. Getting him in on loan or permanently should be Pompey's priority.

No! Just Shaun Cooper if the board ok it.

Kuqi must be a joke

Pompey can't sign players on permanents for fees only frees or loans

01 Sep 2013 10:30:15
Cooper will sign a 1 or 2 year deal tomorrow
For pompey

03 Sep 2013 07:33:05
Nobody else is signing because transfer window is shut

Can sign players if they are free agents and can still 'sign' loan players if outside the Prem. which we most certainly are!

Can still get frees and loan window open soon.

Whittingham has been given the go ahead to sign an as yet unnamed player by the board, probably Cooper

Cooper has signed a deal until January

01 Sep 2013 10:06:32
Portsmouth will sign another goalkeeper on loan from a Premiership club and will add another striker to there ranks before the window slams shut, rumour is Portsmouth will sign Former Portsmouth player Jason Roberts on a free after his release by Reading. And will try to add Shaun Cooper to the squad who has been training with Portsmouth over the last week or so.

Roberts is still a Reading player. Once he is fit he will be starting games.

Jason Roberts released? He's part of Readings plans. Not a hope

Roberts hasn't been released though.

Roberts isn't a free and he's just about to return from injury!

01 Sep 2013 14:30:32
Yeovil are looking at him

You mean next year when his contracts up? Think he's going into media

Im a reading fan and a huge fan of roberts but let's be honest, he's too old and his body is not capable of more football. I wouldn't be suprised if he never plays for reading again

28 Aug 2013 01:29:55
Portsmouth will sign Jamie Ashdown on loan till January from Leeds with a view to extending his loan to the end of the season

Take him he's not part of our plans we have paddy Kenny and Alex cairns

28 Aug 2013 10:19:21
Lets hope so
Because he's a flipin good keeper
Far better than smith
Don't know why Sullivan doesn't start

Sullivan was beaten at his near post 3 times in the opening game of the season. Ashdown would be a solid use of the money we have.

I heard this aswell would be great to see him back he was one of the players that didn't wanna leave in the club anyway so would love him back.

Ashdown would be a great addition. He could be the difference between a good or indifferent season but don't think Whittingham will have the nerve to go back to the board after he already asked for Sullivan. Hope I am wrong.

According to the back of The News on Friday Guy has said there is absolutely no truth in the internet rumour that he wants Jamie Ashdown back.

Guy needs to think long and hard on this if it's an option. Lose a bit of face right now by asking for another keeper or risk a far worse as the season progresses.

26 Aug 2013 00:02:37
Portsmouth have signed Adriano Basso on a deal till January.

Well really can't see this but hopefully

He is a bit old at 38, but he has to still be better than the keepers currently in the squad

Would prefer Stephen Hendersen, Jamie Ashdown or Mikkel Andersen on loan

Funny that 2 days later there's still not been any announcement of this signing?

Mikkel Andersen current playing in Denmark

Not Happening "The News"

23 Aug 2013 08:58:36
Andy Williams has joined Yeovil on Loan. Former Motherwell midfielder Tom Hateley has been training with the club & played in the 6-0 win over Portsmouth in a behind closed doors friendly
N'Guessan still remains a target of Swindon

Frees up a wage, would of liked to keep him because of his experience but he proved he's not the goal scorer we thought he was! Get rid of caddis and benson and bring in 3 more players- winger and two strikers

Would like N'Guessen and hately to join look like good players

Clearly not good enough for the Championship?

20 Aug 2013 17:31:21
Ashley Harris looks set to leave Portsmouth on loan. He has been mooted to join either Gosport Borough or Havant and Waterlooville until Christmas.

Harris has requested some game time so Guy Whittingham wants to send him out on loan as he's currently not even making the bench.

Likely to be at conference premier level possibly at Aldershot with Webster

Ashley Harris is currently out with a calf injury, so Jack Maloney is now likely join Aldershot for a month

Harris has asked to leave on loan. Club has confirmed.

20 Aug 2013 17:15:49
Portsmouth will be signing Shaun Cooper, Maik Taylor, and Paul Connolly to strengthen their squad.

Taylor would be a good signing although I would prefer Ashdown

Cooper is training with Pompey Squad today (Thursday 22nd)

Ashdown would be a good signing although I would prefer Mikkel Andersen or Stephen Henderson

Better for Guy to save the money he wants to spend on Cooper and buy a goalkeeper instead! Any of those suggested would be good.

18 Aug 2013 20:54:34
Stoke still looking to sign Jed Wallace from Portsmouth then send him back on 6 month loan

They need players for now not the future.

Stoke need both players for now & for the future. with the lack of transfer activity so far I expect us to sign at least 2/3 forward players (1 winger & 2 strikers) then sell Kenwyne Jones for £2/3million. seems like a nice enough guy but 5 goals in 50+ appearances over the last 2 seasons is not good enough. perhaps he should opt for Red Bull instead of Lilt! :)

Most of jones appearances are from the bench in the last 10 mins he a better striker than crouch he just needs service when jones is on form on CB in the leauge can deal with him

I thought Jed Wallace was staying at Portsmouth. Anyway I think that Stoke only need 1 winger and 1 striker. I would prefer Junior Hoilett and Troy Deeney but it looks like we are signing Mevlut Erdinc.

Jed Wallace is talking with pompey and expect to sign a new contract until 2017

15 Aug 2013 14:15:56
Portsmouth set to sign former Brighton Left back Marcos Painter on a free until January

17 Aug 2013 10:40:36
He will do a job for pompey in league two and one if you go up, not the quickest but can defend, good luck painter, Brighton fan,

A very solid debut against Morecombe

Looked very good v Morecambe looked a natural Left Back and impressed me much better then Butler in my opinion

I'm not surprised he looks solid in league two, he is good for league 1 too. Brighton fan.

Brighton fan - Marcos will rip league 2, great in l2 l1 off the pace in the championship however.
