With ex Huddersfield utility player Tom Clarke failing his medical yesterday, Simon Grayson will look to George Francombe, recently released by Norwich, to add strength in depth at right back / right wing. A compensation fee will be required as Francombe is under the age of 21 which is currently being negotiated. AFC Wimbledon have also expressed interest but League 1 football and a shot at promotion to the second tier is preferred. AFC Wimbledon will keep an eye on recently released Norwich City academy graduate, George Francombe. The player impressed, amidst a team in poor form, during a loan spell at Wimbledon in the first half of the season and can play at either right back or right midfield. It remains to be seen whether interest from clubs higher in the football league will develop, but should Ardley opt to make an approach, Wimbledon may prove an ideal place to kickstart his career.

The Brewers are close to agreeing deals to sign Alex MacDonald (recently released by Burnley), Tom Naylor from Derby and Altrincham's Damian Reeves.
Burton have also offered a contract to former Tranmere forward Adam McGurk, however he is also weighing up other offers from other clubs.
