Just noticed that, whilst defending the team I support with facts, that i'm considered to be a 'to$$er', 'gasbag' and a 'gobby s***e' but apparently i'm the 'most vile individual on this site'. Of course, none of 'em leave a name or mention who they support. You can say all you like about 'soton' but if it's inaccurate, pathetic, bitter drivel, then I will continue to let you know, no apology.

24 May 2013 14:29:41
Will Preston have a squad of 138 championship standard players next season then? that's going to cost a bit.

24 May 2013 14:17:35
Seems Preston are signing everyone who is available

24 May 2013 13:59:47
Does anyone else want Noel hunt? Seems a bit of a bad signing seen as though he has no pace, he isn't really a goalscorer and he is 30. Also the deal with matt mills looks odd, do we really want a defender who can't commit to a club? Just my opinion but there are better free agents around than hunt.

saying wish norwich would employ him as he hates being in the shade at ipswich.

Have I understood this correctly. Stoke City get rid of Tony Pulis. in order to replace him with Mark Hughes?

24 May 2013 10:20:23
reading lb hunt

Ryan Bertrand - Chelsea - Loan - Yes, we may be slightly dreaming here, as even if he was available for loan, he would probably go to a Premier League side. The former Royals loanee featured quite regularly under the stewardship of Roberto Di Matteo, but only made a handful of appearances under Benitez. The question then poses, if Mourinho does take the hot seat, will he feature under the Special One? I can`t see him using Bertrand as a left winger, so left back would be the only viable position and the relationship between Ashley Cole and Mourinho was there for everyone to see. I wouldn`t mind betting that Bertrand could well be available, but the likelihood of him coming to us is relatively low.

Karim Rekik - Man City - Loan - A very highly rated Dutch under 19 international, who spent the tail end of last season on loan at Blackburn. Rekik can play as a centre-half or a left-back, but primarily on the left side of defence. He made his debut for City in his only appearance this season; you can probably guess who that was against? Yes, us. At the tender age of 18, you definitely consider it as a risk, but some could have argued that with Bertrand four years ago. Could be worth a shot.

Shane Ferguson - Newcastle - Loan - Another highly rated player at his respective club, who has only come into the limelight over the past season, after making his debut nearly three years ago. Ferguson is a Northern Ireland international, who enjoyed a very successful loan stint at Birmingham at the end of the season, making eleven appearances and scoring an impressive free kick against Crystal Palace. It is also worth noting that he has featured for the Magpies too, featuring four times in the Europa League and several times in the Premier League this campaign. A player who can play anywhere down the left wing, renowned for his technique and delivery into the box. Adkins could well be tempted with a player with his sort of attacking intent.

Danny Fox - Southampton - £2-3 million - The former Celtic defender has already been linked with a move to the Madejski Stadium, after featuring prominently under Adkins during his tenure with the Saints. The rise to the fore of Luke Shaw has affected the Scotsman`s opportunities of first team football and his red card against West Brom in April probably didn`t help his case. A player that has superb dead-ball ability, but divides opinion among Southampton fans for his defensive capabilities. He wouldn`t be high on my wanted list, but his experience at Championship level could prove useful.

Aaron Cresswell - Ipswich - £3-4 million - I wouldn`t mind betting that most people reading this wouldn`t have heard of this lad, but he is certainly making a name for himself at Portman Road. The 23-year old missed just two games last season and played every minute of every game for the Tractor Boys this term and as they say, no smoke without a fire. Cresswell`s outstanding consistency has gained admirers from the Premier League, mainly Aston Villa, who made an enquiry about his services last summer, before they opted to buy Joe Bennett from Middlesbrough. Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy expects interest this summer and I would like ourselves to be interested, in a player with great pedigree.

Michael Owen has revealed he turned down 4 different contracts from Premier League Clubs before announcing his retirement. Everton were apparently one of the clubs but 1st team football was not guranteed

24 May 2013 08:53:13
My personal thoughts on who norwich COULD sign, purely based on their budget, personal speculation only.
Outs:
Fox
Surman
Vaughan
Ayala
Barnett
Ryan Bennett - Season long loan to a championship club
Rudd - Season long loan
Steer - Season long loan
Butterfield - Season long loan

Ins:
Kaboul - when fit would easily be first choice
Curtis Davies - quality back up
Livermore/Huddlestone
N'zonzi - just requested a transfer
Redmond
Mcmannaman - these two would allow snodgrass to play more centrally
Aubemayang/Hooper/Austin/Rhodes/mbokani

McManamann to Norwich just is not going to happen i'm afraid.

Curtis Davis as his a championship player and that's all you can afford or ever go for lol

That Benteke seems like a nice chap doesn't he? Stated in the press that if a "big club" are interested he's not going to let Villa stand in the way of a move.

What an ungrateful little $hit! Villa gave him his big break and now he wants to shaft them, and has the cheek to say it publicly! Shades of when Lampard left West Ham to join Chelsea. He had a bad attitude then too.

Aren't some players just despicable? And no, I'm not a Villa fan. {Ed001's Note - to be fair, this is only to be expected, he did go on strike to force a move to Villa in the first place.}

Did he?

Oh my god! What a bar steward!

No more than Villa and Lambert deserve. Lambert did the same to Norwich and Colchester before them. Now time for him to find out what it's like.

Welcome to our beautiful game!

iv got to say things look bleak for stoke city next year and I'm a stoke fan. Pulis has gone due to mutual consent (Basically he's been sacked). He kept us in the premier league for 6 seasons and now coates has got rid of him without a replacement in mind and we will probably end up with Mark Hughes. Also Begovic will be training with Liverpool in July ahead of a move to anfield. Steven Nzonzi our young player of the year has handed in a transfer request. I also think Shawcross and Etherington will follow Pulis and exit the club leaving us without any real class in our team.
Mark Hughes as manager and no Shawcross, Begovic or N'zonzi and no wingers or full backs or a clinical finisher.
We said be careful what you wish for now you've got it

Pulis shouldn't have been sacked. However, Mark Hughes is not a bad manager, providing the chairman/owner (s) keeps tight control of budgets. Hughes did ok at Blackburn and Fulham where his budgets were tightly controlled.

24 May 2013 01:41:05
Itl be a week or two til we have confirmation of a stoke manager maybe even a month so we'll just have to wait on that one. let's focus on some players that stoke should sign (prices I would pay in brackets).
Defenders for me would be Kolo Toure (free) or Joleon Lescott (5mil) great experience and solid defenders. I would bring in John Brayford (3mil) and Martin Olsson (3mil) as they're great full backs and young and cheap.
Midfielders I would look at two great underrated wingers in David Hoilett (4mil) and Garath McCleary (3mil) also if we could get Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes on a free it would be a great signing. I would also look at Will Hughes (5mil), Nathan Redmond (3mil) and Yannick Bolasie (4mil) who are great young prospects
Strikers I would definitely like to sign Emmanuel Emenike (12mil) as I really am a fan of him shows great strength and determination. I would also like to see Eddie Johnson (free) as he is quite fast and possibly would adapt to English football. Two young players i'd like to see in red and white are Andreas Cornelius (5mil) who we are targeting and Kim Ojo (8mil) Ojo is a top class young striker iv seen him play and he has great strength and very good positioning and I know he would do great in the prem. Other possible strikers are Igor De Camargo (4mil) and Pierre-emerick Aubameyang (6mil).

24 May 2013 00:32:36
Jol will only be receiving 16mil for transfers. He may still leave as this is only half of what he wanted. Berbatov also may leave even if Jol stays. Fulham will be seeing more free agants to come.

24 May 2013 00:16:49
If Watford are promoted, they will seek to buy Andros Townsend. He's is Prem league standard and not in the plans of Qpr or Spurs.

24 May 2013 00:16:48
Would love to see some new talent next year, think we should sign:
Max Clayton - Crewe
Tom hateley - motherwell (out of contract)
Lewis dunk - Brighton (out of contract)
Gary mackay-Steven - Dundee united
Nick Powell - man united (loan)
Johnathan Williams - crystal palace

What team are you referring to?

Why do so many people do that? Infuriating!

To annoy you. Obviously.

Stokes next manager will be either Poyet, Martinez or Hughes.
Rafa and di matteo are too good to be stoke manager and rafa has better options. If rafa wants to stay in prem then I think he may go stoke and I think di matteo could go stoke if he too wants to stay in prem but I doubt it as stoke are not a good enough prospect.

Poyet could be as he wants to manage in the prem and has been suspended from brighton.

Hughes could be cause he's favourite and knowing stoke and coates he will get appointed.

Martinez because he would have decided today if he wants to stay at wigan he wants to wait next week to see if stoke or everton have talks with him

23 May 2013 22:17:00
Cant wait for Wigan to prove all the doubters wrong next season. Martinez will stay and willkeep the core of the squad. You heard it here first

Martinez will leave and wigan will be mid table

23 May 2013 21:42:19
Simeon Jackson (Norwich) and Gonzalo Jara (WBA) are targets for Sheffield Wednesday

Former Bristol City midfielder Stacy Long is also on Dave Jones's radar

League one side Walsall are in talks with former Wednesday forward Nejc Pecnik, Pecnik only made five league starts in the 2012/13 season for the Owls

23 May 2013 21:16:51
UEFA are considering offering a CL place to the Europa League winners, as an incentive for what is (for many) a second rate competition. Personally, I think it's a great idea. Clubs who finish 5th in the Premier League might at last take the Europa League seriously, as a possible route to CL football. What do you think Eds? {Ed052's Note - its what should of been happening for a few years IMO}

23 May 2013 21:24:19
Everyone is getting hyped about the next stoke manger but we could have mourinho and do badly we still need to look at transfers and we should be looking at players like: and Sell:
Paul Scholes - free Peter Crouch - 4mil
Ryan Giggs - free Dean Whitehead - free
Andreas Cornelius - 5mil Michael Owen - retired
Franco Di Santo - free Carlo Nash - free
Kolo Toure - free Jermaine pennant - free
Joleon Lescott - 4mil Mamady Sidibe - free
Darren Bent - 3mil Wilson Palacios - 3mil
Jozy Altidore - free Michael Kightly - 3mil
Garath McCleary - 2mil Glenn Whelan - 4mil
David Hoilett - 4mil Matt Etherington - 4mil
Keisuke Honda - 6.5mil
Marcos Alonso - free
Chris Cohen - free
Nathan Redmond - 2mil
Landon Donovan - free
Eddie Johnson - free
Giles Barnes - free
John Brayford - 3.5mil
Will Hughes - 5mil

24 May 2013 17:52:46
Scholes retired
Giggs will retire at Man Utd

23 May 2013 20:58:42
Just clarifying the James Vaughan situation for Derby County and Huddersfield fans.

Vaughan is on a stag do in Miami.

The player will sit down with his agent and begin negotiations with both clubs after his return. It is likely both clubs will match eachother in terms of wage demands. Obviously representatives at the two clubs will be trying their upmost to sell the club to the player. Huddersfield have the advantage that the player was on loan there and derby have the the bigger fan base and better facilities such as their stadium.

I have seen from tracking this signing that both clubs seem to think they are bigger than the other in terms of ambition, with fierce debate between the two sets of fans.

I can't wait to find out who the player will sign for.

Im a huddersfield fan and nobody I know has claimed we are bigger than derby, we want vaughan to sign for us but have no problem with derby who are a fine club

23 May 2013 20:33:20
Ryo Miyaichi to come to boro on loan untill january, with an option to extend for the rest of the season. thoughts?

I'm set to drive Reuben Reid to Plymouth tomorrow as he's giving me 2l of thatchers gold a free tractor and 4 mars bars bargain if you ask me

23 May 2013 16:26:10
With Andy carroll Stalling over his future at West Ham, they are turning attentions away from the Geordie hitman. The name Jordan Rhodes has been discussed again but the concern is whether he can cut it in the premier league and if his hold up play, distribution and aerial ability suits West ham style of play. Gary Hooper name has been mentioned however, his aerial ability is questionable and finally Romelu Lukaku has been mentioned to play with Carroll, however, Big Sam only plays with one up front and would Lukaku be willing to warm the bench if Carroll signed also. I somehow doubt it

23 May 2013 16:45:34
Perfect solution, it could not happen. could it?

Straight swop Pulis to Wigan, Martinez to Stoke.

Think about it. Pulis proven defensive ability, and he got them out of the Championship, but little to offer in attack.

Martinez. Provides bright exciting attacking game, but selection of defenders quite poor.

Stokes existing defence + Martinez recruits could work.

Pulis's ability to get best out of average players could see Wigan back in top flight soonest.

Both Chairmen like loyal Managers, both Managers like to work with down to earth Chairmen.

What more could either Club want?

More likely though is Martinez to Everton, Pulis if not Wigan will go to another Championship team.

23 May 2013 16:10:52
David flitcroft has to day said if we get 10,000 season ticket holders then we will over achieve I know its not his fault but drop prices and we will ,Patrick crines a gready man

Foster is a center half you person

23 May 2013 13:57:19
How can we sign Beattie?, he couldn't get into barnets team, Scott wagstaff would be an amazing but unlikely acquisition
