Nahki Wells after League 2 play off win,
"My contract is with Bradford and I will be playing in League 1 next season".
Does this mean no move to Ipswich or Boro? 18 May 2013 13:15:43
Does everyone agree with the released and retained list? one that suprising though is gary woods, what's everybody else think? 18 May 2013 11:48:31
Ball and mullen both released after 1 year pros without a reserve team to play in seems a bit harsh considering the youth team they played in were very successfully much more so than last season's Another years development now there's going to be a reserve team surely the least they should of got considering the lack of opportunity given. Best of luck to them both in the game 18 May 2013 11:28:16
Any one surprised to See Sullivan stay on and Gary woods go? Can't help But think he wasn't good enough/consistent for the championship. Does this open the door for fotheringham or fon Williams? What do we think? Doncaster fans. We should sell the rest, and get better keepers in from Scotland, such as Alexander and Samson, and Mannus.
And use the money to pay wages of other free transfers we sign.

Cortese is staying. Relax folks, it's over. Spur the rumour mill once more Short Round, it's going to be a wild summer! 18 May 2013 09:42:08
It was announced this morning that Nicola Cortese will be staying as Chairmain and Chief Executive at Southampton FC as Katherine Liebherr and the Liebherr Trust have agreed to provide the funding the ambitious chairmen wants to make Saints a top 6 side a regular at the Euoropean table.
This means manager Pochettino will also stay and a number of new players will be joining the club.
Players such as Cork, Schneiderlin, Shaw and Clyne will all be staying at St Mary's as they believe the club had a bright future.
Players expected to arrive at Saints include Hector Moreno from Espanyol, Alvaro Negredo and Albert Botia in a double swoop from financially troubled Sevilla, Jose Callejon from Real to link up with Pochettino again, Lucas Biglia from Anderlecht and Scott Sinclair to join his brother on the South Coast. Deluded, lol
Expect another relegation battle next season, let's face it, you're just a small club pretending to be big, champs lge?, lol
Top 10 next season for sure wait and see, we were suppose to stay in the championship but we got back to back promotion then we where going to get relegated oh wait we stayed up.
Are chairman is staying on as he's got the financial baking he wants and we spent 30 million last season.
Underestimate us all you want, we are a club on the rise playing fantastic football and outplaying some of the best teams in the prem, oh wait guess they all had off days?
Probally a Pompey fan
It's been a tough 3/4 years for those who say we are deluded, that's for sure, lol
These Saints are just dripping arrogance.
You give your club a bad name.
18 May 2013 09:00:46
Unlucky to all the Arsenal/Chelsea etc. out there waiting to poach our class players, but the club have issued a statement this morning confirming that Cortese is staying and the club can move forward with its ambitious plans for the coming season, so it seems unlikely our players will be jumping ship, particularly for the stupid little price tags rumored on here. 18 May 2013 00:54:08
Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has sent scouts and compiled dossiers over the past few weeks on players such as
Simeon Jackson
Matthew Kilgallon
Jacques Maghoma
Will Grigg
Calvin Zola Would you guys take Izale McLeod from us? Please!
17 May 2013 23:57:31
Who is the player Derby are after from Crewe? Derby have offered Bailey and Robinson in exchange for?? Luke Murphy I'm guessing. Couldn't imagine that Crewe would be able to afford the wages of Bailey and Robinson though
17 May 2013 23:06:48
Bill, we know you do not have a lot of money to put into our club, but, you could at least be brave, risk the backlash, appoint Benitez. If the choice is between a spaniard who has just lead his side into religation, or one who has just won a major european compatition, plus secured a champions l place, all with another managers players, I know which I would take. A top four finish, and an unfourtuate turn of phrase in 2007, would disapear into history. Couldn, t agree more. but will not happen
17 May 2013 22:42:28
poor old chris waddle he has been diagnosed as suffering with advanced sad old man syndrome, symptoms include massively over inflated opinion of yourself and slagging off other far more talented players whilst dribbling from the chin. the cure involves sobering up and a reality check Poor old you, suffering from acute Beckhamophilia.

Good luck for tomorrow bradford.

Gk Gary Woods released from Doncaster! Quite a shock as he was our keeper for the majority of last season. thoughts? My thought is: he's free!
Better keepers around for free with championship and European experience like Neil Alexander at Rangers who will be leaving
17 May 2013 21:14:32
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake released by Wolves. Leeds thought to be interested in bringing in the striker, whose 14 goals could not save Wolves from relegation, to take Davide Somma's place in the squad. 17 May 2013 19:59:46
Bolton's Marcos Alonso is apparently set for a move to serie A side Fiorentina, despite a late move from stoke city.
Who do you think should replace him? 17 May 2013 19:42:30
Barnsley manager David Flitcroft has today revealed in his press conference that he is keen on adding up to five players, including Sheffield Wednesday forward Chris O'Grady and Stoke midfielder Rory Delap.
Flitcroft is also rumoured to be keen on a defender and two strikers on top of O'Grady and Delap.
'Flicker' is looking towards a top six place and is wanting to sign Huddersfield defender Joel Lynch. The 25 year old has been a bit part player at Galpharm this last campaign and the former Brighton player may be looking for a switch. It is thought Town boss Mark Robins wants around £300,000 - £350,000 for the player.
The first of the two strikers is Rory Loy. Loy has a injury hit season with Carlisle last year and left with his contract up. Loy can also play on the left wing and has attracted interest from a lot of Championship clubs. The 25 year old former Dunfermline loanee has been invited for a pre season trip to Spain with the South Yorkshire club.
The second attacker is someone Flitcroft is shelling out for. Swansea have recieved an undisclosed offer for the former Bristol City hitman and are expected to use some of the John Stones money to hit the asking price. But you must face facts. bottom 3/4/5. sign who ever you want.

With Carroll, Bent and Figueroa on the transfer list, I personally hope Stoke can achieve much better transfers than these. Stoke should be signing players that can score goals, I mean look at our goal tally now, awful!
Andreas Cornelius is someone who Pulis should really consider signing. Young, tall, not too expensive and someone who could score goals. With 25 goals already to his name in all competitions for club and country, he is surely someone to keep a close eye on. The only problem is the serious interest from other clubs including AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
Graziano Pelle is another player to look at. The 27 year old has netted 26 times for Feyenbeoord Rotterdam this season. He has good experience and not many big clubs are interested. He would be a good possibility.
One more player as a possibility is Jozy Altidore. The American is currently playing for AZ Alkmaar and has scored 31 goals with the club in his career, 21 of which has come this season. In my opinion he looks to be the next Ricardo Fuller should he sign for Stoke. He plays very similarly to how Fuller played and the fact that he is only 23 makes it even better knowing he has a long future ahead of him. To be honest, a few months ago when Tony Pulis said he was going to be searching in the American market for players, I was slightly worried. But after watching some videos of Altidore, the fact that he is American has really reassured me, knowing Pulis might sign someone with great potential. 17 May 2013 18:57:12

mark cullen has signed for luton town following his release from hull city 17 May 2013 15:43:02
i read that chris waddle doesn't rate beckham, I think it is very sad when a player from another era gives it I was much better eee when I were a lad etc, beckham is a legend. waddle was average Beckham = over-rated, attention loving, hype machine with vacuous, ugly, smile-o-phobic, semi-human wife.
Waddle = good player who couldn't sing.
Give me Waddle any day. {Ed003's Note - She's not ugly.}
Aaaahh the beckham circus
is coming to an end
about time too
Victoria? Not ugly?! She's awful! {Ed003's Note - not a beauty but certainly not ugly}
When I read about waddle writing about becks I was disgusted what the hell has waddle got to shout about naf all, becks has nothing to prove great man great player.
Beckham most overrated player to wear the England shirt
Yup! Good riddance to the egotistical maniac pair of them and their oh-so-gorgeous family and bank balance!
Beckham did do one good thing, he proved that even the thickest people can get lucky.
The beckham haters must be from self pity city
Waddle is a person. stupid long hair and ugly. lseen his missis. shrek. in drag.
beckham. ok not the best. ha ha.
but very clever man. that's why we on here. and him in paris with millions. and no one looks into the fire place. when poking the fire.
oh and scottish football is still dreadful.
maximus
I'm a Beckham-hater and I absolutely love it!
Should I have some guilt problem because of it or something? I despise everything they stand for.
No guilt here I can assure you.
Waddle can't really express a opinion on someone who has been one of England's greats he wouldn't make my top 5000 itfc Steve
Talent wise beckham could not lace waddles boots which is a fact, all beckham ever did was score a few vital free kicks, top geezer tho!
Why so nasty about Victoria. Most posting on here would. (Take her up the Arsenal. )
Saying something is a fact doesn't make it a fact. Beckham did more than score a few free kicks, he had one of the best deliveries in football, a dream for any striker to play alongside, which is why he was always wanted by big teams and won league titles in England, Spain, USA & France.
Just hope beckham gets a
one way ticket to the
states now
just don t want to see anymore of
him or hear of him
"Why so nasty about Victoria. Most posting on here would. (Take her up the Arsenal. )"
Speak for yourself mate, she's rank! {Ed001's Note - I am with you, vile thing she is.}
Who will beckham be sucking
up to now the next part of
the plan is to get a knighthood
god help us all if it happens
lord beckham oh it stinks
Yup! Stinks of pooh!

It is interesting hearing the oft repeated 'not a big enough club' from people. Can everyone just accept that once in the Prem for a few seasons every club is a big enough club, its just that some are bigger than others. Unfortunately for those outside the Prem next season the gap will only become wider due to revenue income generated not just by tv rights but by everything associated eith being a Prem club. So Kone to Norwich, proabably not but not due to Norwich being too small but more likely a bigger offer will come in. But then would he play every week for a Liverpool or Tottenham? Today money is king the shirt you wear is secondary and as such clubs like Norwich, Southampton, Stoke etc may be looked down on but one thing is for sure they have money and will be spending it this summer 17 May 2013 12:33:56
Any danger of Oxford signing anyone? Danger? Not unless they're radioactive or carrying the plague, no.
17 May 2013 10:50:32

John Ward has been busy at the club this week finalising deals before he goes on holiday. Sources within the club have confirmed that 1 new player and a new assistant manager will be announced before the bank holiday weekend. Talks have been held with Edgar Davids for the position of assistant manager but it looks like the club may move on to there second target which is Colin Lee. Kaid Mohamed is wanted by Ward as he feels that a winger who can play up front is a top priority, the deal is likely to go through on tuesday next week. Bad news for GasHeads is that Steve Mildenhall looks likely to stay in the essex area with a host of londo based clubs trying to sign him on better terms than Rovers can offer. The club will have to look for another keeper with former Ipswich stopper Arran Lee-Barrett top of there wish list. 16 May 2013 21:57:35
People talking about chris Powell heading to wolves. Most likely utter nonsense, however a possibility Make your mind up! Is it nonsense or a possibility?
For heaven's sake!

Gillingham manager Martin Allen is wanting to bring in five players this summer for an play off assault on League 1.
A defender, two utility midfielders and two forwards are at the top of his list as he feels his squad is capable with a few additions.
Allen is keen on signing former player Luke Rooney. The 22 year old is a winger and left Gillingham in controversial circumstances last winter. The former Lewes loanee hasn't featured as much as he wanted to at The County Ground.
Allen is also looking for some experience in his midfield. He is believed to be wanting to sign out of contract Portsmouth player Johannes Ertl. The former Austria Wien player is wanting to stay in League 1 and Allen is keen on the fact he is now 30 years old with experience of playing in midfield and in defence.
The centre half Allen wants is Southend experienced defender Graham Coughlan. The 38 year old is currently player / coach at Roots Hall but with United not having a manager, his contract is under threat with it running out next month. The former Plymouth and Shrewsbury Irishman is also keen on one last chance in League 1 and could sign a one year playing deal at Priestfield after constructive talks.
The first striker linked with a move to Gillingham is Northampton forward Alex Nicholls. The 25 year old is wanted by Gillingham after not playing much for Town but the deal won't even be talked about until after the League 2 play off final on Sunday.
The second forward in question is a Premier League attacker. Norwich and former Gills attacker Simeon Jackson. The Canadian international is rumoured to be listening to Championship clubs with him being out of contract but Jackson, who was at Priestfield for two years could sign a short term deal to prove he's still got his fitness and pace. Job a Shoot magazine for you mate.
16 May 2013 18:50:24
has anyone got any news on the 2 strikers notts county are close to signing? be realistic if you don't know who they are don't comment Jon Stead is one of them.
16 May 2013 16:57:24
SOD knows what he is doing at the gate, the club has been in poor shape for a couple of years. Best thing to happen relegation, clear the dead woodwood out, steady the ship and learn from the mistakes. I say follow Brighton model.
