08 Feb 2014 11:13:53
Brighton to sign Baird the defender from reading on loan till the end of the season to have backup for Greer and upson. Also expected to sign a new winger on loan to fill the gap that Conway filled last season.
08 Feb 2014 21:16:43
We already have excellent cover in Dunk. He had not been given enough of a chance since his court case. A far better player than El-abd was.
Are you serious! Dunk is awful every time he plays he either mucks up and let's a goal in; scores and own goal or gets sent off el and was such a good player! Greer should have been pushed to the bench and el and should have stayed! We need at least 4 central defenders which is what Garcia has said himself!
To be fair Dunk has not been given a chance. He was playing very well before his court case, and if you remember he had attracted interest from several Premier league clubs. He has been unlucky in the fact we signed upson when he wasn't playing. The fact that el-abd is not battling relegation in league one should tell you all you need to know about who the better player is.
10 Feb 2014 12:34:08
Amex Baird is out injured, who knows how good dunk is he doesn't get a chance, tell you something Adam was a liability he pulled or fouled all time, he was better than greer though, greer to slow not good enough
30 Jan 2014 20:18:40

30 Jan 2014 16:02:52
Good player may not be a loan as contract with celta finished
He's 27 he used to play for the Spanish under 19 team but he's 27 and if he come he will come permanently as he is moving from Spain but looks like a good player
30 Jan 2014 16:04:22
Also he's 27 not 19
Also his name has been taken off the list of first team players on the celts Vigo official club website so looks like he could be making a move to Brighton
30 Jan 2014 16:14:37
Yep, my Spanish translating wasn't very good. His contract has been terminated so look like a permanent signing
30 Jan 2014 17:49:32
I hope this goes threw as we need more striking options
30 Jan 2014 18:21:50

Brighton in final stages of signing Dale Stephens from Charlton. ssn
Just spoken to Charlton Fan who states Stephens is the only good player they've got!
29 Jan 2014 11:40:06
Stephens will not be going to Brighton, he will only be going to a club up North (if he leaves) due to his ex wife & son moving back up there. Source I know him.
Not sure this will happen. Powell is quoted as saying there is nothing concrete from Brighton.
Albion have agreed a fee for Charlton star Dale Stephens.
Addicks boss Chris Powell has confirmed his club have accepted a bid for the in-demand midfielder.
Stephens is now expected to open negotiations with the Seagulls with a view to moving south ahead of tomorrow night’s deadline.
Powell said this morning: “Dale has expressed his right to speak to them if the clubs have agreed a deal, which they have. ”
28 Jan 2014 16:13:53
Brighton are closing in on charlton midfielder Dale stephens as a replaement for injured andrew crofts.
28 Jan 2014 21:39:19
He's just a tall slow striker, somthing we don't need at Brighton.
29 Jan 2014 10:52:31
How is he a slow, tall forward? He's a goalscoring midfielder who has attacted attention from Aston Villa. A good player in an average Charlton side, be a good opportunity for Dale if he gets the chance to move to a side like Brighton
29 Jan 2014 10:57:17
You clearly need to research before putting this up I've never seen dale Stephens as a tall striker up front
27 Jan 2014 15:26:44
Brighton have had an offer for Middlesbrough wide man Mustafa Carayol rejected
27 Jan 2014 17:28:10
And now he is singing a new contract with us to warn off any new bids
27 Jan 2014 21:07:56
Vossen deal is optimistic but not realistic! Doyle is more realiisic yet dosen't posses the quality what we need! Dorrans & Given would be good, but honesty can't see Given signing permanantly? LL
26 Jan 2014 23:00:50
Aston Villa Ins and out 80% will happen
Ireland - free
Albrighton - loan
Weimann - Tottenham - 4.5m
Holt - loan
Bertrand - loan
Lescott - loan initially perm at end of season
Hoolahan - 2m
Dembele - loan initially perm at end of season
Jelle vossen - 11m
27 Jan 2014 07:39:37
You can only have two on loan and why would we sell weimann that cheap when championship players are worth more than that
27 Jan 2014 10:45:53
Vossen is at Rockliffe having a medical as we speak + You can only have 2 more loanings. Bull.
27 Jan 2014 14:35:59
Premier league chap rules only 2 loan signings thays why Stoke had to buy stephen ireland. Why would vossen wanna go to your lot anyway.
27 Jan 2014 18:32:08
Vossen would want to go to villa as look what they did for benteke. It's a way in to the prem.
You can actually have 4 loans as long as two are short term.
26 Jan 2014 16:17:33
MK Dons Shaun Williams has chose to join Millwall instead of Brighton. Williams is to have a medical and complete the move on Monday.
26 Jan 2014 22:27:50
Millwall also said to be interested in Gleeson, whose contract, like Williams, runs out in the summer.
29 Jan 2014 13:03:02
Yay a reserve 19 year old left back-just what we need?
24 Jan 2014 13:14:09
Whilst drinking with my younger brother at Giddy Bridge Southampton. I bumped into the brother in law of Jermaine Easter who is reportedly looking for a move from Millwall to Charlton. He said the move was to include a swap for the Charlton Striker Yann Kermorgant.
As the night went on, we spoke about other possible links in the championship ( I think he may have some good intel ) He told me that Brighton are intrested in Tranmere's John Louis Akpa-Akpro. Jermaine's brother came across as a massive fan of the Tranmere goal machine. This was clear from the way he was saing things like 'He's an absoloute machine'. The requested transfer fee was in the region of 5Million so i'm told.
Ha ha you drank to much 5m he just gone on loan to bury so they must be rich. not
pne fan 2013
Brighton have got £5m to spend on a striker from Tranmere? Firstly Brighton haven't got £5m and secondly you could buy Tranmere for £5m.
24 Jan 2014 16:59:04
Canadian striker Simeon Jackson who is currently playing in Germany. It's most likely he will sign for charlton he is also a former Norwich no. 9
26 Jan 2014 09:06:11
Absolute rubbish! Kermogant for Easter lol.
Talisman for a substitute. No deal!
26 Jan 2014 11:26:59
Mate, you should write story books for a living. What next, Akinfenwa for 10 million + Solly!
24 Jan 2014 10:29:29
Brighton have had a bid accepted for MK Dons player Shaun Williams as well as Millwall also. Sounds decent enough.
24 Jan 2014 19:31:10
I Think MK Dons player Shaun Williams is one of the best defenders in league 1. He is a solid, sensible level headed footballer that is destine for the next level, another very good player possible leaving Mk Arrgggggggg :- (
Rather him go now then at the end of the season. At least this way we can get some money for him considering he is out of contract at the end of the year.
26 Jan 2014 19:03:43
Looking like 250k - 300k shame Robbo won't get to spend it.
Oh my Tom Flanagan centre half
28 Jan 2014 08:00:48
Jordan Spence will return, otherwise were in trouble.
24 Jan 2014 09:12:07
Brighton have had a bid accepted for MK Dons player Shaun Williams as well as Millwall also. Sounds decent enough.
23 Jan 2014 18:49:04
there is a rumour that the 5 players and the possibility of 3 more being transferred from Brighton will be replaced by
a) 35 and a 31 year old defenders to revitalise our defence
b) 2 prospect from Division 2
c) CF from Cardiff because the one from Bournemouth choose to stay put
All of the above will not enhance our team and the choice of targets should be OG and not any other as we've been told many times quality at the right price come's from abroad (Spain) come on Oscar give some hope for the play off, s
23 Jan 2014 21:14:03
is your post relevant about anything, what five players and three possible, name them all,
Your like people who quote on the Argus about the Albion who moan all the time,
Bridcutt wants to leave, Adam el and wanted a longer contract and Bristol city gave him that,
Barker and dickensen were never going to break into the first team,
35 year old defender is Joan Capdevilla I think, the Cardiff CF is Joe Mason aswell
24 Jan 2014 17:59:30
Are Brighton actually ever going to look for quality replacements that have left in this window, should we be looking in league one for a centre half no disrespect to league one players, my opinion should be good enough now and for the prem if and when we get there, all the money we get for bridcutt should be all used on at least couple off quality players, to take us to the promise land,
26 Jan 2014 10:07:08
Brighton have actually strengthened their squad by getting rid of two league one standard players who happen to be popular with the fans. They were never going to cut it in a push to the premiership, and anyone who has seen then play over the last 3 seasons will know what I mean.
23 Jan 2014 13:09:35
Bolton have pencilled a £500,000 bid to take Marc Albrighton from Aston Villa.
Bolton can't afford a fiver so I doubt this is true
26 Jan 2014 16:01:44
Bolton are due to sign Kevin McNaughton and Joe Mason on loan from Cardiff City shortly. Cardif are signing Fabio the Silva and Zaha from Man Utd, which will allow Bolton to sign the duo.
Craig Dawson is also due to sign for Bolton on loan until the end of the season.
22 Jan 2014 17:34:12
Brighton scouts looking at Cambridge and Plymouth midfielders Luke Berry and Conor Hourihane as potential replacements for the injured Andrew Crofts and (potentially) outgoing Liam Bridcutt
22 Jan 2014 13:42:31
Oldham are trying to negotiate a deal with Brighton for striker Will Hoskins.
22 Jan 2014 14:35:55
Won't happen bad injury not sure when he's back, prob not this season,
22 Jan 2014 14:58:10
i completely doubt it he is out injured and who in the right mind would want to sign an injured play
up the albion
22 Jan 2014 15:52:12
The Albion could do a lot worse than signing danny graham!
22 Jan 2014 18:39:16
Doubt very much he'd want to drop down. He hasn't had a proper chance to show what he can do yet.
22 Jan 2014 19:21:26
Actually back training tomorrow, won't be match fit for a while, no disrespect to Oldham Brighton have stuck by him while injured, and also gave him a new contract while out injured, he is highly rated at Brighton, not saying he won't go out on loan to get match fitness!
21 Jan 2014 17:52:16
Liam bridcutt and will Buckley to leave for Sunderland, Connor Wickham coming to Brighton part off the deal, plus 3.5 million!
We won't sell Buckley we will become too much of a selling club but bridcutt is bound to go and with that money and the money for el abd and Barnes we will be able to sign a decent striker and midfielder as well as re signing Conway on a loan spell for the rest of the season
And sign a defender as well!
21 Jan 2014 16:52:54
Ex Spain Captain Joan Capdevilla seen in Brighton today reportedly in contract talks with the albion
22 Jan 2014 11:36:00
it would be nice to have him come play for us
great talent probs out of our wage structure
Didn't he play for espanol on the day he was supposedly in Brighton. (Not that I would mind being wrong!)
20 Jan 2014 14:11:38
Bolton Wanderers are set to bid £500,000 for Aston Villa's Marc Albrighton this week.
After satday result can't see anyone wanting to join bolton
pne fan 2013
18 Jan 2014 22:34:30
Middlesbrough have approached Brighton over Leandro Ulloa and it is believe that a bid of 2 million will be put in for the big man. Funds come from Rhys Williams being sold to Swansea for 1. 5 plus 1m add ons and seb hines to birmingham for 650k
Hilarious, bidding £2m for a player that has already had a £5m bid turned down. Try again fella :-)
He looks like a decent striker to me with height at 6. 3, try and part ex the duke with him?UTB🇬🇧
19 Jan 2014 07:20:01
I would like to no why we would let him go for that price, we paid more when we signed him,
To the post who put we turned down 5million for him can you tell me who that was from, can't ever recall someone offering that much, cus it didn't happen, we turned a bid down from palace but not for five million,
19 Jan 2014 09:50:05
Why reject bids for Williams when his form was poor but now he's on top form they think aw yeah let's sell him now he's doing great, pure persons he's a player we need to keep a hold of if we get promoted, he's premier league class, bad decision if we decide to sell for such a little amount of money
19 Jan 2014 10:51:48
Ulloa going for two million move to Middlesbrough! Don't make me laugh who would want to move to there. Voted the most depressing place to live in the uk. Absolute rubbish rumour. And why would Brighton sell someone they paid 2 mill for the same price. Get your lies right next time wally
Hes shi. t look at his stats and not worth 5ill anyway 5mill
19 Jan 2014 12:26:17
we need to make a move now for lefondre or a proven goal getter ak come on we missed one at charlton we had one the game would ov been killed off utb
Sell Williams because he's been well below average for a year now. Just so happens his form picks up when clubs come sniffing around? He's been unhappy here since the captaincy was taken off him.
Having said that I think he's better in the middle.
Still if we could push for £2mil then I'd be happy because we can HOPEFULLY re-invest in a decent striker. Le Fondre or Vossen for me. At a push Becchio but he'll be rusty as hell after sitting out for a year.
Jrm we can dream them two would be class ain't going to happen though would love it to utb
19 Jan 2014 22:09:42
So looks like Williams is gone from us, which would make way to obviously sign Ayala or shay given on a permanent deal and loan in bechio, not too happy about him leaving like but good luck to him, hope he doesn't flop with the likes of brad jones, Ross Turnbull, Stewart downing, joe bennet, and I would or said Adam Johnson but he's got 4 in 2 games so can't bad mouth him tbh, good look too Williams and UTB
Hope we get more than a mill though he's worth bit more I would say to warm a bench or get crocked haha GOOD LUK WILLIAMS
20 Jan 2014 10:19:44
There has been further contact with Genk over the future of Belgium international Jelle Vossen this month, but competing interest from Premier League strugglers Cardiff City has reduced Boro's chances of landing the 24-year-old.
Genk turned down Boro's £4m offer for Vossen in August, and since then, the striker has bolstered his reputation further with 15 goals in all competitions.
He is keen to play at as high a level as possible in order to force his way into Belgium's World Cup squad, and Cardiff's interest will make it much more difficult for Boro officials to persuade him to play in the Championship during the second half of the season.
20 Jan 2014 12:22:02
It's a strange one this Vossen interest! World Cup year, but would signing for bottom prem club do him any favours? Not sure myself! He'd get better salary but that's it!
17 Jan 2014 18:15:15
Lewis Grabban was set to sign for Brighton today and according to local media was close to signing before noon to be available for Saturday, but Reading have had an offer accepted and Grabban is set for talks with them before making a decision on his future.
Reading are close to announcing new Omani ownership with links to the Sultanate of Oman/Omani Royal Family. Reading are also set to receive £1.2m from the sale of WBA striker Shane Long to Hull.
With the wages Reading pay, it should be wrapped up early next week.
Bournemouth fans can track the progress by following their local rags reporter (I'm not sure if you can name on here).
Hes just signed a new deal at AFCB!
18 Jan 2014 15:06:22
Grabban has signed a new deal with bournemouth 3 and a half years.
Grabban's signed a new contract so I doubt it.
24 Jan 2014 12:10:40
There does seem to be some substance to this but as usual the details are vague at best. It's probably the Sultans 10 year son, who's worth a lot less. Ring any bells?
I hope it happens but certainly not holding my breath.
17 Jan 2014 15:56:55
Brighton will apparently move for Mason (Cardiff) if Grabban doesn't sign from them. Grabban and Albion were still discussing personal terms this morning but Chairman Tony Bloom's absence in Australia and the time difference are drawing out the process. Not sure the deal will be done.
16 Jan 2014 21:33:04
Possibility of grabban rejecting the Brighton contract not willing to give up first team football however if it is accepted Leon Clarke would top Eddie Howe's wish list possibly Leigh griffiths, jet or a suprise move for becchio
17 Jan 2014 23:02:26
Why o why did tony bloom have to go away this month of all months
16 Jan 2014 19:43:48
Adam El-Abd has left Brighton to join Bristol City
16 Jan 2014 21:43:59
Good luck adam el abd great servant to the club one of my fav players. You will be missed . Great buy for you city
Looks like a good buy to me.
Now how about a pacey winger for both sides?
16 Jan 2014 16:35:12
Brighton meet AFC Bournemouth's 1.1 million release clause on pacey striker Lewis Grabban according to tv
That's old news. Although Redknapp possibly looking to sign him is New News!
17 Jan 2014 22:26:37
Reading also in the mix
16 Jan 2014 13:05:02
Brighton have put in a 1.1m bid for Bournemouth's Lewis Grabban. This meets his realease clause so he's travelling to Brighton for contract talks today.
16 Jan 2014 11:00:56
Grabban is on his way upto Brighton to discuss personal terms transfer should be completed from Bournemouth very soon
16 Jan 2014 10:58:09
Just met tommy fraser's dad and he said that news from the brighton camp is that adam el ab has left for bristol city. :- ( Getting double the wages and the captains armband apparently. Good luck adam & sad to see you go
16 Jan 2014 12:49:29
Doubling his wages, surprising they can afford to do that, if true good luck Adam,
Think this is unlikely since El-Abd has been granted a Testimonial next season by which time he will have been with the club 10 years so his wage increase would need to be quite substantial to offset not having it.
I wonder if it is Dunk who is going since he was on Loan to Bristol a few weeks ago.
Either way Brighton would look to replace the departing player.
16 Jan 2014 16:20:28
Is true in the local paper
16 Jan 2014 19:46:13
Good luck el abd as far as I'm concerned you are a legend at this club. Have great memories you always put in 100. /' will miss you
15 Jan 2014 20:38:00
It is rumoured that Hibernian are interested in Brighton Development Squad Winger/Striker Ben Dickenson either on loan or permanently.
This story has now been reported by Local Sussex press.
20 Jan 2014 18:34:31
Under terry butcher, the lad could improve massively, good striker, just what hibs need at the moment
14 Jan 2014 21:21:18
Brighton confirm the signing of 20 year old Preston attacking Mid Jeffrey Monakana one for the future, or a replacement for Crofty
Good luck to jeff but he is on his day brilliant but he can be very lazy
pne fan 2013
15 Jan 2014 19:13:29
Lazy? Have you watched holmes and hayhurst. Monakana was are best winger and only one with pace and skill to beat a full back and cross
15 Jan 2014 20:03:53
Shocking choice to sell jeff. Miles better than rest of the winger we got, and lazy? Have your watched holmes and hayhurst this year there useless
Monakana was fast and tricky but there was rarley an end result. Good decision to let him go, and get money for him. Can't justify keeping him for one flash of brilliance every season.
16 Jan 2014 19:04:15
Flashes, haha every game he played he did well. Who cares if he doesn't like training on match day he win you a game by himself. And the others can't fact. Holmes hayhurst beavon king aren't good enough, even brownhill lost his way
Are you Monakana's dad?
17 Jan 2014 18:16:17
Doesnt no anything about football clearly teeboy
17 Jan 2014 21:36:52
Agree ^^ monkana was a good player and far better than the listed above. Some preston fans are watching with tinted glasses that's for sure
