20 May 2013 16:35:52
Burton boss Rowett wanting to 'build from the back' this summer and thus target Bell from Coventry and Magnus Okuonghae from Colchester and Tom Naylor from Derby.

Talks underway to bring Ian Sharps back to club permanently and winger Wes York (Nuneaton) offered trial at the Pirelli.

Your welcome to bell he is utter pants couldn't beat an egg.

I'd be extremely surprised if Okuonghae valed at £500'000 went to Burton Albion.

20 May 2013 15:14:53
Ipswich summer targets in no specific order,

Gerken from bristol city-free
Tomlin from posh - fee involved

Wells from Bradford - fee involved
Mahogma from burton-fee involved
Adoma from bristol city -fee involved

All players have been watched in last month of season, I know they won't get all targets but thers a list of players been scouted already

Maghoma is out of contract and has already done a deal with #boro

Most of them for free are we that skint that we can't buy decent players like the good old days

Zakuani isn't on a free, he still has 1 year left on his contract

Why pay for decent players when you can get good players for free?

20 May 2013 12:42:38
Burton boss Gary Rowett has admitted that top scorer jacques maghoma will not be with the club next season, the brewers boss is expected to sign adam McGurk from tranmere as his replacement

19 May 2013 16:04:34
Matt burton set for 2 week summer trial at afcw

19 May 2013 12:40:55
Bradford hope to sign 7-8 new players for league 1 next season players include.

Maghoma (Burton)
Welsh (Carlisle)
Freeman (Stevenage)
Kennedy (Rochdale)
Flinders (Hartlepool)
Vardy (Leicester)
Dickson (just released by Southampton)
Novak & Ward ( Huddersfield)

Rumoured Out going
Connell (Burton Plymouth or Exeter)
Ravenhill (Chesterfield)
Reid (wants to move south to be near his young family)
Duke (Southend)
Doyle (Huddersfield)

Ward to bradford - bit early to be on the cooking sherry isn`t it. No chance.

19 May 2013 15:09:28
Can't see Nathan Doyle going anywhere.

Maghoma is going to BORO

Maghoma has already signed with the boro!

Novak has just turned down a deal with us as his wage demands were too great, as for Ward we paid £1m from Bolton and is still very much part of the first team set up. I think you Bantams are getting a little over excited. However congrats on getting back to League 1 and good luck for next season.

Mabye Novak but not Ward ha where did you get that from?

Ward would never step down from championship! He's got prem quality!

I know someone who knows Ward and he's on up to 10K a week with bonuses.

Bradford fans getting carried away spending money on players they can;t afford. lmao

No chance with Novak, Vardy or Ward. Can see the others being possibilities though

Good luck to Dickson if he gets a move to Bradford, don't know what the issue was but he never seemed to get a fair chance at Saints.

Danny Ward No chance. Just because he is from Bradford and started out there doesn't mean he will sign. Novak possibility.

19 May 2013 19:19:31
ward will not be going anywhere.
novak going to preston or birmingham

Ward to bradford he will get even fatter when he becomes a regular at akbars

Id love it be true wardy coming to bradford but I know him very well and he's not moving from huddersfield. and he's not on 10k a week at all more like 5 plus bonues

No chance with ward, he is too good for us, he says he is happy at hudders anyway, bolton want him back so there is no need to get so carried away

Would love to see Ward at Bradford but absolutely no chance of us signing him!!

Ward can't get in the team might be true

Cant get a game in huddersfield's 1st team! eh? are you on drugs! he has been injured for 16 games of last season and when he wasnt injured he started about 20 games.

18 May 2013 21:15:50
Tony Mowbray keen on Javier Acuna from Real Madrid and Samba Sow of Lens both on free transfers. Josh King and Burton star Maghoma also rumoured to join to the club.

18 May 2013 20:01:48
Burton hoping to sign alex McDonald and matt Patterson to sign a new contract early next week

Walsall have offered Paterson a two year deal.

Wow, where did you hear this? Paterson is due to sign a contract to keep him at Burton. MacDonald I believe is staying as well?

18 May 2013 18:26:54
Burton linked to defender Phil Edwards from rochdale

17 May 2013 10:10:37
Sources believe that Bristol Rovers manager John Ward are talking to Burtons Billy Kee, the strikers contract runs out this summer and talks are believed to be taking place.
Elliot Richards could also be lined up with a move away from Bristol in the shape of Newport, a loan move is favoured by the welsh club, more on this when I have it.

False rumour again. Billy Kee just signed a 3 years deal this winter.

Just to say, billy kee's contract doesn't run out in the summer.

17 May 2013 21:59:08
John ward isn't that interested in adding another striker to the group and elliot is very much in his plans so I don't see this happening,

Kee signed a three year deal six months ago it would cost anyone a fortune to buy him out of Burton.

If Kee's on a 3 year deal then I doubt we'll be after him, however for richards I think a loan will do him good.

17 May 2013 12:15:32
Ipswich Closing in on:
Nahki Wells - Bradford (Depending on play off result)
Richard Stearman - Wolves
Jay Tabb - Reading
Jacques Maghoma - Burton Albion
Harry Forrester - Brentford (Depending on play off result)

doms

If wells is offered big champ salary he will be leaving bford regardless of play-off result.

I wish we could sign all of tem players. Although I also hoped that we would sign Alan Judge, and look how that turned out.

Wonder if Mcarthy may also go for Ebanks Blake after his releaese from wolves?

Give us more than £500k and a decent sell on and I'll drive Wells wherever you want

New to this board but read recently that ITFC will mostly be looking for frees. Tabb I'm not fussed about but Ebanks-Blake would be top of my list. Forrester a great addition depending on price.

17 May 2013 09:07:29
burton to sign alex McDonald in the coming days and in advanced talks with matt Patterson and zola over new deals

Would be a massive boost if Calvin and Pato signed back on. MacDonald is ok and I believe would be welcomed back.

Zola not resigning for Burton.

Paterson wants to stay at Burton. Talks well ahead.

They need to get on and sign Pato as I am hearing Portsmouth and Leyton Orient are interested.

17 May 2013 08:11:49
Ipswich now front runners for both Nahki Wells of Bradford and Jacques Maghoma of Burton Albion. Calvin Zola to Rotherham is a step closer after initial talks and Matt Paterson to Oxford United could still happen. All three Burton players could still stay at the Pirelli if Gary Rowett decides to stay as manager, both Wolves and Doncaster Rovers are interested in him.

We are NOT after Matt Patterson! We turned him down 2 years ago. And he is not the target man or goal poacher we are after!

Paterson is too good for Oxford, he will sign for a year at Burton then move onto bigger and better things.

17 May 2013 08:05:33
Rotherham united putting in bids for bradford striker nahki wells and burton striker Calvin Zola

Why would we sell Nahki Wells to Rotherham United when we are in same leagues next season and he's been linked with championship clubs

15 May 2013 18:46:56
Preston North End are intrested in these players but not all going to happen

Ins

Jacques Maghoma of Burton Albion
Amine Linganzi of Accrington Stanley
Kevin Davies free agent Player/coach
Declan rudd of Norwich loan
Lee Novak of Huddersfield
Lee Croft of Oldham
Steven Schumacher of Bury

Outs

Chris Robertson
Andy Proctor
Chris Beardsley
John Mousinho

"but not all going to happen. "

I doubt any will happen!

Are preston planning on buying 5 squads worth of free agent, league 2 players again?

Rudd on loan is most likely near 100% possibility IMO (Norwich fan)

Maghoma would be an excellent signing for PNE

The poster who suggests preston are buying 5 squads of players should be aware they have one of the smallest squads in Division 1 with only 24 professionals.

Is robertson any good? (chelt fan)

Croft won;t go to PNE as he's already said if he stays in league one he will stay at Oldham.

He just fans player of the season as well and we also have a new manager in place who saved us from relegation in only 8 games he got 14 /24 points. he will get his own team with players like Croft included as he's already spoke to him.

Rudd should be going back to Preston (another Norwich fan)

24 proffessional what though?

In response to the 5th reply after my earlier post, I was talking about preston buying like 2 squads worth of players in like a month last year. they were being linked to every mediocre player on this site. I was exagerrating with the 5 but you get my point, oh and 24 is probably in the top half of squad sizes in league 1

Robo is OK no nonsense and steady but can lack pace (PNE FAN)

In my opinion robertson is good enough for league 1

16 May 2013 18:15:50
Not ambitious? there are not too many clubs of Burton's stature that have strongly competed with the likes of Rotherham, Port vale, Bradford and Northampton.

15 May 2013 13:49:05
Burton boss Gary Rowett could be about to accept an offer to become the new manager at Doncaster Rovers.

Still think after only one season as a FL Manager Gary would be better staying at Burton and going for automatic promotion next year. Donny can get a more experienced manager.

I've heard that Gary Rowett will be off as the club are not ambitious enough for him. Would be very bad move for the club and would be very sorry to see him go.

15 May 2013 12:34:35
Burton Albion manager' Gary Rowett will become the new manager of Doncaster Rovers.

14 May 2013 22:30:51
If Bradford get promoted these are the players they are looking at

Welsh (Carlisle)
Freeman (Stevenage)
Sinclair (Peterboro)
Flinders (Hartlepool)
Vardy (Leicester)
Kennedy (Rochdale)
Pack (Cheltenham)
Maghoma (Burton)

Leaving
Connell (Burton/Exeter /Plymouth)
Reid ( Orient ) wants to leave family reasons
Ravenhill (Chesterfield)
Duke (Southend)

Andy Welsh told people in Carlisle that he had bought a house in Bradford earlier this year so there could be truth in that rumour

15 May 2013 12:15:14
Would love to have Connell at Plymouth seemed good when played us last season

15 May 2013 17:18:19
want reid to stay but rest can go and any of them players to come in I would happily have

Vardy.

Ha ha ha comedy gold.

Welsh rumour been around for a while good experience whether reid leaves or not

Connell hasn't been given a chance this season at city, and although i'm a city support would luv him to go to Plymouth and score loads

14 May 2013 21:11:17
Bury look in dire trouble.

Sodje, The most influential player in recent history looks set to join Alan Knill and Chris Brass at Torquay.

Bishop is Wrexham bound
Harrad is Burton bound
Worrall is Leeds or Wigan Bound
Lockwood is Accrington bound
Hughes will join Tranmere or Macclesfield
Craig Jones is rumoured to be discussing terms at Portsmouth.
Schumacher wants away
Carrington is a target for Grimsby and Mansfield
Belford will join Walsall
Holden heads for Ebbsfleet
Fleetwood want Trevor Carson who is out of contract.
Healey has left and Glentoran are favourites to sign his services on a pay when you play deal.

This means trouble for wantaway manage Blackwell.

The rumours of money issues place Bury 6 weeks behind all and any rivals.

Shocking stuff due Tomorrow and Friday for Bury fans if jungle drums are correct with teams of people taking up office in the club from Monday.

Club employees believe this is part of a valuation team.

The truth is out there X

Alan B

Sodje go pompey with his bro

Carson isn't out of contract

Neither Sodje or his brother will be at Pompey next season

Burton don't want Harrad

Carson did not attain the required amount of appearances to ensure his contract rolled a further 12 Months.

We shouldn't of got blackwell in he's had a past of financial problems!!!

Think it's out of burton or Mansfield where Shaun Harrod will end up as he is desperate to leave bury and these 2 sides have both expressed interest

Harrad is the highest paid player at the club.

No he's not, Healy is on 3k a week

14 May 2013 14:08:29
Pompey are looking at burtons Calvin Zola and ex players papa diop and todorov

14 May 2013 12:38:24
Once the current transfer embargo is lifted, Coventry City Manager Steven Pressley will make moves for Aaron Martin (Southampton, loan), Scott Wootton (Man Utd, loan), Stewart Murdoch (Falkirk, nominal), Chuks Aneke (Arsenal, loan), Thomas Eisfeld (Arsenal, loan), Jaques Maghoma (Burton Albion, free), Scott Wagstaff (Charlton, free) and Lyle Taylor (Falkirk, nominal). Not all of these will sign of course, but they are serious targets.

Leaving will be Nathan Cameron (Northampton, free), Cody McDonald (Gillingham, 200k), Gary McSheffrey (free transfer), Chris Dunn (Dagenham & Redbridge, free), Stephen Elliott (MK Dons, free), Callum Ball (Derby, loan return), Danny Philliskirk (free transfer), Shaun Jeffers (free transfer), Richard Wood (Barnsley, free), Jordan Stewart (free transfer), James Bailey (Derby, loan return).

14 May 2013 16:52:15
They say cortese may be on his way. Great I could never believe how Adkins was treated. Let's have a manager who can speak English and here for the long term, Take away one win this season we would be right in it.

Aaron Martin is apparently already set to join Swindon Town for next season.

Would love to see Aneke here but can't see him coming, Lyle Is a possibility link up with his former manager. Hope so anyway

Typical coventry mass exodus and no cash coming in. Jeffers will be premiership he has bags of potential. As Daniel sturridge did before he was released. I am not happy with the appointment of pressley. And fear for the future of my club. Please haskell come in now and save my beloved skyblues.

Get real Mr Cortese has save Saints and set them on the right path to the top.
Saint Ter

Ridiculous comment about Cortese above. No one was sadder than me when Adkins went but the team have improved under Pochettino and you have to credit Cortese with that. A win aghast Stoke and we'll finish comfortably mid table. What has his language skills got to do with anything? Results are what count. People like yourself embarrass our club with comments like that!

Do not want Wood at BARNSLEY, NOT GOOD ENOUGH

If true chuke aneke is quality in the mould of chalobah at watford

16 May 2013 16:30:14
Don't forget cortese was spending the owners money as for the style of football the fitness of the players has been good but playing high line football if the present manager stays we will get caught on the break, teams will soon learn to play against it. Look at the way Chelsea played against benfica

16 May 2013 18:10:12
If cortese and the manager are thinking of leaving you have to think how loyal are they to the club. You could spend millions and still not do well. Look at the conference league 12 teams who have been in the football league. Every Few years a group of player make it good. The most important thing is to hold onto Luke shaw clyne ect.

17 May 2013 09:52:00
Let's not have another soap opera at st Mary's make your mind up cortese and stay or go the club will live on. If they increase the season tickets like last year they will lose me after years of support, could be eastleighs gain.

Wootton was on loan at Forest this season and had an excellent season (by all accounts) in the championship so why on earth would he spend next season in League 1. You are wildly off the mark on so many of these. or perhaps you are confusing the real world with championship manager?

14 May 2013 12:58:43
Burton boss Gary Rowett has made strengthening his defence his top priority for the summer.
Names linked with the club include Walsall's Richie Taundry, Blackpool's Ashley Eastham and Hartlepool's Evan Horwood; all of which are out of contract at their respective clubs.

14 May 2013 09:54:57
Portsmouth in talks with Sean Clohessey of Southend, Burton Albion strikers Calvin Zola and Matt Paterson, Stanley's Lee Molyneux and Joe Oastler of Torquay. Whittingham wants a squad of proven L2 players and has already signed Tom Craddock of Oxford.

How Many Times, Sean Clohessy Wants To Stay At Southend, He Has Stated Himself That He Will Sign The Two Year Deal Offered To Him By Southend.

The Pay At Southend Will Be Better Than The Pay At Portsmouth

RM Shaks!

Doubtful on all of these transfers, but would love to see calvin Zola at Pompey, physical and technical, rated him since he was in newcastles youth team!

Yes Zola quality hope is actually happens will be beast upfront with agyemang

As a club that continually fails to pay its players staff etc I am sure Sean will be delighted to get away! Zola and Paterson could be a decent shout although I believe Burton are trying to keep both. Molyneux has had an good season and although an ex-saint (like Paterson) would be welcome. Oastler rumour is definitely doing the rounds he is re-joining.

Clohessy Has Said He's Staying, End Of.

RM Shaks!

Calvin Zola not on a free so probably not for Pompey we aren't paying out

Zola is free ---> contract finished with Burton. Same for Maghoma and Paterson.

Please get your facts right.

Pompey already in talks with Zola anyway!

I hope you prove me wrong and we are in talks then but can't see it happening

Where have you got this information from cause I doubt that Zola will sign for us so your wrong

The pay at Southend will be better than the pay at Portsmouth - are you having a laugh? Southend have been in court getting wound up more times than we actually pay our players on time! ridiculous comment, no one in their right mind will come to Southend, we are in for a tough summer and an even tougher season.

Clohessey has NOT said he's staying at all.
He's very likely to leave. But probably to a league 1 club.

My Next Door Neighbour Works At The Club And She Said Clohessy Has Said He's Staying, First Hand Source. Shows How Much You Know, He Said It On Blues Player And Told My Neighbour Yesterday!

RM Shaks!

Clohessey will leave Southend. Pompey won't get both Zola and Paterson, but maybe one of them. Oastler will return to Pompey.

Calvin zola's a good player, watched him at crewe a few times and he always popped up with a goal.
-pompey fan

If you think that Clohessey will leave southend then that's a real heads gone

Clohessey has joined Oxford

"Clohessy Has Joined Oxford". Whatever. Nothing On Either Club's Website, Besides, He Has Said He Won't Leave Southend. He Told My Neighbour Who Works At The Club! First Hand Source! All These Jealous Portsmouth & Oxford Fans. Deary Me.

RM Shaks!

14 May 2013 01:54:44
Ipswich rumours:

Obviously not going to sign all of them but these are just some of the names i've heard us linked with lately:

Stephen Henderson - West Ham
Harry Forrester (Brentford)
Jay Tabb - Free

Alan Judge - Free
Cole Skuse - Free
Guirane N'Daw - Free
Daryl Murphy - Free
Jacques Maghoma - Burton Albion
Nakhi Wells - Bradford City
Harry Maguire - Sheffield United
Nicky Maynard - Cardiff City
Luke Moore - Swansea

OUT:
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas
Michael Chopra
Lee Martin
Andy Drury

Skuse has signed today

14 May 2013 16:09:13
maynard! are you mad he'll be a premier league player next year not trying to escape relegation for the umpteenth time

As the Post post above Skuse has agreed a 3 year deal, Tabb and McGoldrick are 99. 9% done. From the rest of the links I would be happy with Stearman, Judge, Maguire and a GK. Think Maguire would be out of our price bracket though.

We will be the Wolves B Team

You will not get Maynard unless he is a bit shy of form and I don't think he will be

SEB and Berra have just been released

13 May 2013 16:21:47
Rotherham manager steve evans has admitted he wants to get his business done early and wants to sign players good enough to fire the millers to the championship. They have placed 150k bid for Liam Boyce of Cliftonville, 300k bid for Billy McKay of Inverness and 50k bid for Sean Colhessy of Southend. Evans will also offer contracts to Jacques Maghoma of Burton, Marlon Pack of Cheltenham and Danny Kearns of Peterborough (although Kearns is not out of contract the posh are willing to let him leave on a free). The millers are contemplating a bid for Barnet keeper Graham Stack too as he seems reluctant to start next season in the conference. All of this is from someone in the know at the club.

Sean Clohessy is out of contract why would you pay 50k?

Tosh! Sean Clohessy Won't Leave Southend. He Has Been Offered A New Deal And Has Said Himself He'll Sign It!

Dream On Rotherham!

RM Shaks!

Maybe higher division may persuade him to leave an average league 2 team. Think southend fabs need to dream on.

Great player my choice for captain if we get rid of barker who has not had the best of seasons compared to the previous campaign

I don't think kearns will go on a free

Cal

Yeah, Clohessy Is A Great Player, He Wants To Stay At Blues Too, Which Makes It Better! People Saying Barker Will Leave For Crawley To Work With Ritchie (His Brother), But I Can See Him Going Back To Somewhere Like Plymouth Instead

RM Shaks!

Graham stack has stated on more than one occasion he is going to stay

Kearns is transfer listed and I can't see him going for nothing.

Clohessey doesn't want to stay at Southend, that's why he hasn't signed a new contract - he will move on, Rotherham are a good shout.

He (Clohessy) Has Said He Wants To Stay. My Neighbour Works At The Club And She Said He Will Sign The New Two Year Deal. First Hand Source. That Now Adds Rotherham To The List Of Jealous Fans.

RM Shaks!

13 May 2013 13:46:02
James Beattie will take over at accrington and his 1st signings will be Nicky Hunt on a free after his release from rotherham and Andy Proctor from preston. Lee Molyneux though has already signed for Mega Bucks Fleetwood. Rachubka will not be signed full-time as Dunbavins been given a new deal. Will Hatfield is also been watched by Burton as a replcement for Zolo and Maghoma. 27

13 May 2013 12:04:19
Stevenage are interested in signing Calvin Zola from Burton Albion.

He lives in the Wirral, travels daily to Burton, you really think he would do the same to Stevenage? Poor rumour.

Probably won't happen but would be a good signing for stevenage if it does

So who was the Calvin Zola lookalike at the Stevenage training ground Monday morning if it wasn't the man himself?

He stayed local (Wirral) for personal reasons. It doesn't mean he will die on the Wirral!
Calvin Zola is wanted by Stevenage. Fact.

Professionally and personally it would be better for Calvin to stay at Burton. Up and coming young team, he's the star making a good name for himself, why on earth would he want to go to Stevenage who are a negative team on their down? and don't say money talks!

Being in talks with a club doesn't mean he will sign for them.
Fleetwood, Stevenage, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Peterborough, Rotherham and Walsall all interested in Zola.
And yes sorry to disappoint you but money talks, especially when you are 28 and nearing the end of your career.

Professionally? OK Burton is a L2 club.
Stevenage = L1.
Please explain. Burton fan surely.

Zola is very injury prone, this will put a lot of clubs off paying him big bucks. He could do no worse than sign a long term deal with Burton keeping him at the Pirelli till the end of his career. Yes I am a Burton fan, and yes I want him to stay!

19 May 2013 19:32:00
that is a poor rumour why would burton release him if he was good enough for league 1?

They haven't released him, his current contract has run out. He is currently a free agent, although Burton have put a deal on the table and are really hoping he stays.

12 May 2013 22:44:33
Colchester United will sign out of contract Burton Albion Left Back, Aaron Webster. The 32 year old has spent 15 years at Burton. Webster, a boyhood Colchester fan is very keen on a dream move to the club he loves.

12 May 2013 15:36:16
Bradford outs

Reid (family reasons wants to go back down south)

Wells & Davies (if they don't go up)

Doyle (Huddersfield)

Duke (Southend)
Connell (Burton/Exeter)

Wanted
Maghoma (Burton)
Pack (Cheltenham)
Kennedy (Rochdale)
Flinders (Hartlepool)
Turgott (West ham) season long loan

12 May 2013 19:31:40
Pack is in advanced talks with Bournemouth no chance of Bradford getting him.

12 May 2013 13:58:38
Bradford city ins and outs

OUTS:
Nahki Wells - Burnley, Huddersfield or Wolves
Matt Duke - Southend
Gary Jones - retired
James Meredith - Rotherham
Alan Connell - Portsmouth
Michael Nelson - Fleetwood
Adam Baker - released

INS:
Jacques Maghoma - Burton
Marlon Pack - Cheltenham
Conrad Logan - Leicester
Matty Done - Barnsley
Evan Horwood - Hartlepool
Karl Hawley - Scunthorpe
Nathan Tyson - Derby
Danny Whittaker - Chesterfield

Maghoma will join m'bro now

Meredith leaving not a chance
Jones has already stated he will play another year
Wells will stay if Bradford go up otherwise he may leave
The rest I can see leaving

Marlon Pack more likely to join Wells at Huddersfield.

Why would you sign Logan, he's only played once in the last three yearsin a game that almost like a friendly!

Don't think we will want Meredith just signed skarz as left back for next season

Are you on crack Meredith to Rotherham not a chance

No he hasn't he played for Rotherham & Bristol Rovers in 2011 or 2012 didn't he

Whittaker would be a great signing for Bradford, was one of the only decent performers in league one for Chesterfield last season

Whittaker decent performer in league one last season for Chesterfield, we would have been better off with Roger Whittaker.
