Ferry De Haan began his career at RVV Transvalia then spent two seasons at SC Excelsior - playing 65 times and scoring 13 goals. After this he joined Feyenoord in the 1998/99 season - when he made nine appearances in their title winning campaign
De Haan was injured during 2001/02 but returned to appear as a late substitute in the UEFA Cup final victory against BV Borussia Dortmund. He also got booked before his first touch of the ball in that game as Feyenoord tried to protect their 3-2 lead.
De Haan made 18 league appearances in that season - which helped Feyenoord to secure another term in the UEFA Champions League following their first round exit in the autumn of 2001
