Fabio Cannavaro maybe making a shock return to Juve after a long telephone conversation with director Alessio Secco.

The captain walked out in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal and their demotion to Serie B, however now that the Bianconeri are back in the top flight, the door is open for a comeback.

Cannavaro crowned a superb 12 months with the Liga title for Real Madrid, having already been named European and World Player of the Year.

When he was asked about the possibility of returning to Juve last week, he said to newspapers 'they have my number and that of my agent.'

It seems the message did not go unheeded, as 'Tuttosport' claim that GM Jean Claude Blanc and director of sport Secco were holding negotiations over the phone and will meet with agent Enrico Fedele next week.

The main stumbling block is over wages, as Juve will not match the £3 million per season he will receive until 2009 under the terms of his Real Madrid contract.

The Bianconeri are having a complete overhaul following their promotion and have already signed Cristian Molinaro, Zdenek Grygera, Domenico Criscito and Daniele Gastaldello for the defence, with Federico Balzaretti, Robert Kovac and Igor Tudor departing.

Juve have secured the full ownership of left back Cristian Molinaro and completed the sale of Federico Balzaretti to Fiorentina.

Molinaro, who was at Siena in a co-ownership deal, enjoyed an excellent season and was a reported summer target for Roma.

The 23 year old, who started his career with Salernitana, joined the Tuscan club in 2005 via Juve and scored 1 goal in 56 Serie A appearances during his time at the Franchi.

Balzaretti will instead transfer to Fiorentina after making it clear that he was keen on leaving the Old Lady since he was told that his services were no longer needed.

The 25 year old, who joined Juve from Torino in 2005 after the Granata's bankruptcy and scored 2 goals in Serie B last season, signed a 4 year contract with the Gigliati.

The news was said by both outfits and even though no financial details were revealed, Juve will profit from the player's departure seeing as he has arrived on a free transfer.

Juve defender Robert Kovac was also expects to leave to join Dynamo Zagreb, however the move has collapsed due to the player's wage demands.

'Seeing as the transfer did not take place, I will stay at Juve,' declared the 33 year old, who still has 2 years left on his contract with the Bianconeri.

Didier Deschamps is still contacting Juve players and urging them to leave, accuses FIFA agent Vincenzo Morabito.

The surprising claim came after the French Coach abruptly resigned with 2 games to go in the Serie B season, having already secured promotion and 1st place.

David Trezeguet was the most upset by this turn of events and has since warned he too will walk out after refusing their 'ridiculous' contract extension.

'Deschamps is still calling some players in a bid to destabilise the locker room atmosphere,' said agent Morabito on 'Antenna 3' television.

'It is the very unfair and unprofessional thing to do. He is causing real trouble within the squad.'

Although Morabito did not name exact stars, the Italian media is certain he was referencing fellow Frenchman Trezeguet.

There are others involved too, such as Mauro Camoranesi, Federico Balzaretti who is on the verge of a transfer to Fiorentina and Jean-Alain Boumsong.

It is alleged that Deschamps is revealing the club hierarchy's dissatisfaction with certain players, as the matter was discussed with him before he handed in his resignation.

Meanwhile, Juve continue to be linked with every eligible player on the transfer market.

The latest is Dutch player Rafael Van der Vaart who, as stated by 'Bild', is 1 of the top targets.

The German newspaper claims that Pavel Nedved said to friends Hamburg man Van der Vaart was of real interest to Juve and could be willing to meet his £7 million price-tag.

'It is not up to us to announce the move, however I do think the club would confirm it as early as Tuesday,' noted agent Giuseppe Bonetto this evening.

Balzaretti is the versatile full back who was a regular fixture in the Bianconeri side which won the Serie B title this season.

No financial details of the move were revealed, however the Old Lady will make a profit on the former Under-21 international given his free arrival.

Balzaretti, born in Turin, joined Juve in the summer of 2005 after local rivals Torino went bankrupt.

The Stadio Artemio Franchi club are understood to have had a 3 year contract offer had taken by the player.

'If Juve do not want me anymore, then Florence could be an ideal destination. I would gladly accept the Viola jersey,' he mentioned last week.

Now 'Fiorentina.it' say that negotiations have advanced to such a stage that a 3 year contract with the option for a 4th has already been printed and is waiting for the signature.

The transfer maybe completed as early as the middle of next week.
