What a tournament in my opinion best tournament in recent times. Come on Italy hopefully England would have gone out to eventual winners. Spain 1-2 Italy. Mario Balotelli to score winner

The reason England are so defensive is because of that awful band that follow them around, the players stick to one side of the pitch to get away from them. Don't worry about woy he's already deaf. This explains why he never answers the questions properly and sounds like a broken tape recorder.

LL the red.

Apart from having better players than England, countries that are doing well in the euros such as Germany, Spain and Italy all have a winter break during their seasons, so wouldnt it be an idea by the FA to do the same, especially durig seasons where the Euros and World Cups are taking part, what have they got to lose, what do you thimk ed/ {Ed003's Note - I'm not against it as long as we don't lose the traditional xmas fixtures,break from Jan 2nd for a couple of weeks maybe ? we have silly breaks for meaningless friendlies early in the season so why not cut them back so it doesn't make a problem with fixture pile ups}

I have watched many a World Cup and Euro championships and this is the worst ever!
Hardly any goals - especially from free kicks as time and time again the latest super-duper aero dynamic breakthrough of sports science gets balooned over the bar time and time again.
The refs are ay best unpredictable and often inconsistant and fussy and the best players in their position for club and country are jaded and hot and cold in a tournament that is tarnished by theatrical and cheating fools that still don't realise that there are a dozen camera's on them every game.
Very few teams have played with any real pace and flair and even goalkeepers are having less to do with the lack of accurate goal attempts.
But will I stop watching this dross?
Naaah - well it's in your blood innit?

JJ {Ed003's Note - good post JJ }

Not surprised by England's exit. The baffoons and farts in charge appointed Woy and got what they deserved.

England need a passionate and fanatical manager to get the best out of our players and need someone like Redknapp.

Until we appoint a British manager who has a belief and passion for the game, then we will NOT win any competitions.

Only Redknapp or O'Neill WILL bring success. It's time to wake up England sack the manager, have the fans sing land of hope and glory, play in RED shorts and find a passionate manager. Then International success will follow and we will win a penalty shoot out if the goalie stays still and doesn't dive all over the place.

TIME FOR BIG Changes we have a lot to learn STILL.

england played for penalties an with englands record from shootouts the effectively played for a defeat-not sure this team could have done much better with any other manager but for sure englang will never be great under hodgson,all is teams play a horrid style of football which is becoming more widespread across europe an threatening do destroy the game for spectators gees even watching spain is boring now

What an absolute disgrace! Outplayed for 125 minutes and some players unable to take a real penalty. There was no imagination in our play, totally predictable, where was the brave new wave? If you look around the prem. most of the playmakers are not English, most of the goal scorers are not English. Until our clubs start bringing through the raw talent and perhaps not coaching precotious talent out of youngsters, we are going to dwell in the lowewr divisions of world football. Yes I hear you say, we have won some great friendlies, but friendlies they are! Coles pen was appalling, Youngs pen was awful when you consider he is quite an interesting player with ability. Where do England go from here? Who knows?

C'mon guys, you can't be THAT disappointed by England at the euro's. YES we did play boringly and scraped through most of our games but we DID top our group and we kept strong and passionate as much as we could.

Under the circumstances (Roy, who I think doesn't have the best tactics but did generate a very English and relaxed atmosphere; and the Terry incident etc) I think we can exit the tournament with our heads up.

Support England because they had a good tournament, and I'm sure with the number of promising young players we can do even better at Brasil and France.

get rid of hodgson bring in redknapp. All we do is defend
should have picked adam johnson, Daniel Sturridge and Aaron Lennon play on the counter attack and actually try to score and win instead of defending all the time. England need to control games, but they cant even do that against ukraine. Time for a new England generation with the likes of Wilshere, Rodwell, Sturridge, oxlade - chamberlain, kyle walker, Adam Johnson, but please not Andy Carroll or Jordan Henderson actually no Liverpool players at all sounds good.

its not that england are s**t its just that none of the 22 man squad are what you could really call international players. england have not had world class squad since italia 90 the euro 96 six team was good but even then not world class. you could throw a stick at any division in england an hit a player as good if not better than the squad roy has picked.

People say england are s**t, well whats the difference between winning 1-0 and 8-0 on paper its still a win..we finish top of qualifying group and top of a fairly tough euro group but they're s**t...fifa rankings place holland in 2nd/3rd and they went out in disastrous fashion. Winning two groups unbeaten IMO isn't that bad

Is it just me or is Blatter a complete twonk – he didn't bat and eye lid when goal line tech denied the English, but now it has favoured them this has now become an absolute priority. It wont get any better f, both are self or us either when the frechman takes over the reins as fifa boss – both are self indulgent fat cats with no interest in the home of football…..COYRs
