Nancy's hopes of staying clear of the Ligue 1 drop zone have received a blow after two of their key players were ruled out for the rest of the season.

Midfielders Emmanuel Duchemin and Jonathan Brison both sustained injuries during the 3-0 defeat to Bordeaux on Wednesday and will not return before the end of the campaign.

Duchemin hurt his knee and is out for at least two months, while Brison dislocated his elbow.

The Lorraine club have slipped to 15th in the table after winning just once since the winter break.

They are now only five points clear of the relegation zone, and face a crunch match against Valenciennes on Saturday.
