Debutant Demba Ba salvaged a potentially vital point for Senegal to keep top of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Group 6 standings after a 1-1 draw away to Tanzania.
The Belgian-based Ba netted 15 minutes from the end of the qualifier in Mwanza, after the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarter-finalists had fallen behind to Nizar Khalfan′s 18th minute opener.
Tanzania had lost 4-0 to Senegal in Dakar in March, but the draw on home soil means they are still in contention for a place at next year′s finals in Ghana.
In the pool′s other fixture, Burkina Faso will be entertained by Mozambique on Sunday.
