Feb 9 2003: Manchester City are interested in Coventry's
youngster, Gary McSheffrey.
Coventry know that they still need to sell
some players in the summer if they are to stay afloat, so
they have been receptive to City's initial approaches.
Feb 5 2003: Blackpool have got Coventry City's
24 year old midfielder Gavin Strachan on trial. The son of
Gordon Strachan is joined on trial by 21 year old goalie
Scott Ward.
Jan 31 2003: Coventry City have
sealed the signing of 37 year old Spanish international
midfielder Vicente Engonga, he has signed until the end of
the season from Real Oviedo.
Jan 29 2003: St Johnstone have
fought off a number of bids to buy Peter
Macdonald during the transfer window - but they realise
that they need to cut costs at the club and so they will let
him join another club in the summer.
Preston and Coventry are
keeping tabs on the 23 year old. Coventry will
make a bid if either they gain promotion or failing that
they lose a lot of players in the summer. Preston boss Craig
Brown, on the other hand, is desperate to bring him to the
club in the summer.
Jan 29 2003: Coventry have 2 players
on trial, they are striker Ryan France from Unibond League
side Alfreton Town and 21 year old goalkeeper Scott Shearer
of Albion Rovers.
Jan 21 2003: Coventry youngster,
Sean Cooney, has signed a 2 year contract with the club.
Jan 19 2003: Dumbarton striker Paddy
Flannery is currently being monitored by Coventry.
Flannery has been the Sons
top scorer for the last 3 seasons but he would like to move
on to a bigger club at a higher level of football.
The Dumbarton Player of the Season
2001/2002 has been watched by Gary
McAllister's scouting network and they have so far given
glowing reports on the ex-Greenock Morton and Scotland U18
forward.
Jan 17 2003: Lee Mills has joined Stoke City on a
months loan with a view to a permanent move. The 32 year old
joined Coventry from Portsmouth in January
2002 after impressing during a loan spell.
Jan 16 2003: Middlesborough have completed a loan
move for Coventry City's midfielder John
Eustace. The 23 year old has joined with a view to a
permanent move.
On the other side of the coin, Dean
Windass has left Boro for Sheffield United on a free
transfer. The 33 year old ex Hull, Aberdeen, Oxford United,
Bradford City and Sheffield Wednesday forward cost Boro
£600,000 in March 2001.
