Full Name: Christopher Peter Armstrong
Chris Armstrong started his professional career in 1989 playing for Wrexham. Then Millwall signed him to replace the gap left by Teddy Sheringham's departure to Nottingham Forest.

He made a big impact at Millwall but was sold by the Lions after 12 months to Crystal Palace. Armstrong was Palace's top scorer for the three seasons he was there. Next he signed for Tottenham Hotspur for ?4.5million and played with Teddy Sheringham Spurs signed Armstrong to replace legendary striker, Jurgen Klinsmann who left Tottenham in June 1995 but he could never hope to be Klinsmann's equal.

He went through some difficult patches during his 7 years at White Hart Lane Some sections of the crowd turned against him for missing too many goal scoring chances Armstrong suffereda number of injuries over last few seasons at Spurs and playing his last game for the club in December 2000.

He was released at the end of his contract in May of 2002 He played 193 games for Tottenham and scored 62 goals It took Armstrong until the end of August 2002 to find another club that would give him first team football - it was Bolton Wanderers Sam Allardyce ended his long search for a striker by taking on Chris Armstrong - just hours before the transfer window closed

Chris made his debut for Bolton in a 3-1 defeat at home to Bury in the Worthington Cup in October 2002 Armstrong now plays second fiddle to Michael Ricketts
