Carl Cort Rumours and Transfers
14 08 2007
Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric says that the Foxes have pulled out of a deal to sign Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
The 35 year old former Leeds, Chelsea and Boro forward is without a club after been released by Charlton at the end of last season.
The former Dutch international was supposedly undergoing a medical at the Walkers Stadium Monday ahead of a probable move.
But Mandaric mentioned that that after talks with manager Martin Allen the Championship side have now dropped their interest in the striker.
"There was a chance of the signing but, after talks with the manager, it was decided not to take it any further," Mandaric informed the Leicester Mercury.
"But it is still my intention to back him with some more new transfers if we can."
Allen has already signed 3 new forwards in Carl Cort, DJ Campbell and teenager Ricky Sappleton, however would welcome bolstering other areas of the team.

Leicester City sign former Newcastle United and Wolves forward Carl Cort.
Cort, who moved to St James' Park from Wimbledon in a deal worth £7 million in 2000, joins the Foxes on a 2 year contract.
The 29 year old becomes manager Martin Allen's 4th signing of the week, following the captures of Bruno N'Gotty, Jimmy Nielsen and Ricky Sappleton.
And Allen confirm he has beaten off competition from a number of clubs to sign Cort.
He said, "Carl has quality and I am delighted he has chosen us over 4 other clubs, that included one from the Premier League. I think I am going to get the best out of him. I am going to work him hard and push him to maximise his ability. Then the ball is in his court."
Chairman Milan Mandaric said, "I am delighted that we have attracted a player of Carl's calibre to the club. He met the sole criteria of what this club is all about."
Cort arrives at the Walkers Stadium on a free transfer, having been released by Wolves at the end of last season.
