Vidarsson joined Everton from Icelandic side FH Hafnarfj?r?ur in the summer of 2004. In March of 2006 he signed his first professional contract at Everton, signing a two year deal.

Bjarni is an established U-21 international for Iceland despite being only 18. Vidarsson?s father, Vidar, was once captain of the Icelandic national side, his eldest brother plays for Lokeren in Belgium and another older brother plays for Lillestrom in Norway.
