Feb 11 2003: Man City have had scouts watching Ajax recently, reportedly following midfield star Andy Van Der Meyde. The Dutch international has openly stated his desire to leave for a bigger league in the summer and Kevin Keegan is hoping he can persuade him that England is the place to show off his talents.

Jan 26 2003: Sevilla have signed Ajax's Nichos Machlas on loan until the end of the season, with the option of a permanent move if it goes well. The 29 year old Greek is an ex-Golden Boot winner and has ended Sevilla's search for a striker in the transfer window.

Jan 25 2003: Derby County's Georgi Kinkladze is wanted by US Major Soccer League team, Columbus Crew. They know what a crowd pleaser he is and think that he would pull the crowds in, even in America.
    The ex-Ajax and Manchester City midfielder is surplus to requirements at a Derby County side which is desperate for money.

Jan 13 2003: Gerald Sibon is in talks with SC Herenveen officials over a return to his native Holland. The lanky striker is one of the most skilful players in the 1st Division and the Owls 2000/01 Player of the Year was always going to attract attention.
    The former Ajax player signed for Wednesday on the 9th July 1999 and though he struggled in his first season in the Premiership, he soon got used to English football and began to score regularly.

Jan 4 2003: Ajax are looking to bring back Edwin Van Der Sar of Fulham. An Ajax youth system product, he won the 1992 UEFA Cup, the 1995 Champions League and in 1996 he won the domestic treble, in Holland, with Ajax before leaving for Juventus.
    At Juve he was the first non-Italian goalkeeper they had had and he went on to play at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 for Holland. He now has over 60 caps but with Fulham having a bad time of it (even leading to his substitution part way through a recent game) he may well be surplus to requirements.
