ADO Den Haag Football Club

Swansea have completed the signing of midfielder Ferrie Bodde from Dutch side ADO Den Haag for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old had signed a new three-year deal with Den Haag in December 2005 but he expressed his desire to leave following the club's relegation from the Eredivisie last season.

Swansea boss Roberto Martinez told the club's official website: "A player of Ferrie's quality does not come along too often. We have monitored the player over the last three months and we have been very impressed with him."

He said: "Tactically he is very aware and he is a good passer of the ball, a playmaker of the highest quality. He is aggressive in the right way and overall a real winner. In fact he absolutely hates losing and that is the type of player we want at Swansea. He has gained some great experience against teams like Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV and at 25 he is in the prime of his career and desperate to play in the Premiership, which matches this club's criteria."

Striker Mark de Vries and goalkeeper Rab Douglas have both been released by Leicester boss Martin Allen.

De Vries, 31, has spent the entire season on loan at Dutch side ADO Den Haag, mostly being used in a substitute role. The strong target man played his last game for the Foxes in their 1-0 FA Cup fourth round defeat to Southampton in January 2006.

Douglas, who signed from Celtic in 2005, established himself as City's first-choice keeper during his debut season at the Walkers Stadium, however, the emergence of Paul Henderson last term restricted his appearances in the starting XI.

"I have informed both of them that they have been made available for transfer with immediate effect and that it would be in their best interests to get themselves another club," Allen told Leicester's official website.
