Tottenham have completed the signing of Kevin-Prince Boateng from Hertha Berlin.
Spurs, who have yet to disclose the amount paid or the length of contract, fought off competition from Sevilla for the 20 year old midfielder.
Regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in Germany's Bundesliga, Boateng made 42 appearances for Hertha and was capped by Germany at youth and U21 level as well as being voted the country's best youngster in July last year.
A fee has yet to be said however the 2 clubs were thought to have agreed a deal in the region of £5.4 million last week.
"For me it is amazing to be in England," Boateng informed tottenhamhotspur.com.
"To be in London and playing for Spurs will be good for me. It was my ambition to play in England, I am 20 now and am about to quickly realise my dream. I know that Spurs are a team who like to play offensive football. The club would like to climb higher next season and I would like to be a part of it. I watched the Premier League regularly in Germany, it is the most famous league in the world and I have always enjoyed it."
Having already strengthened his team by acquiring Darren Bent, Gareth Bale, Adel Taarabt and Younes Kaboul in the summer, Spurs manager Martin Jol has confidence he has added another talented youngster.
The Dutchman explained, "Kevin is a talented player who plays for the U21 side of his country. You would compare him with the likes of Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone in that he is an exciting player at present and the future. He is an attacking midfield player, very strong and that is one of his main assets. In Germany he is regarded as one of the largest talents, we recognised this and went in for him."

Tottenham's good pre season form continued with a 3-0 triumph over Orlando Pirates in the Vodacom Challenge Final.
2 goals from summer signing Darren Bent sandwiched an effort from Dimitar Berbatov as Spurs cruised home in South Africa.
Shortly after Bent's rasping shot was pushed wide by Pirates keeper Francis Chansa the former Addicks forward smashed home on 11 minutes.
Spurs were looking in good touch and some good persistence from Bent robbed defender Destin Makita before he rolled into the path of Berbatov who scored with ease.
Just 3 minutes later Bent had his 2nd of the game when Adel Taarabt back-heeled into the path of the forward who showed good composure to slot home.
Spurs naturally had taken their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half, even though the Pirates enhanced their game, however it mattered not as Spurs claimed the trophy.

Tottenham and Liverpool got their pre season preparations underway with wins over Stevenage Borough and Wrexham respectively.
Darren Bent scored his 1st goal to help Spurs to a 3-1 triumph at Broadhall Way.
Martin Jol fielded quite a strong line up in Tottenham's 1st friendly of the summer and they broke the deadlock on 18 minutes with Robbie Keane scoring from the penalty spot after Bent was fouled in the box.
Stevenage drew level 3 minutes before the interval with Ollie Allen, son of former Spurs hero Clive, scoring with a neat turn and finish.
Spurs restored their lead straight after the break with Bent marking his debut in style as he raced clear onto Ricardo Rocha's long pass before coolly clipping the ball over the Stevenage goalkeeper.
The impressive Adel Taarabt got a deserved goal on 67 minutes with a shot from the edge of the area.
Besian Idrizaj helped himself to a hat trick as Liverpool beat Wrexham 3-2 at the Racecourse Ground.
The Austrian forward grabbed the opener after only 4 minutes when scoring from close-range.
Idrizaj doubled the lead on 19 minutes when Jermaine Pennant got down the right and crossed for Idrizaj to head home with a diving effort.
The same 2 combined 5 minutes later for Liverpool to add a 3rd goal with Idrizaj heading home from Pennant's cross.
Eifion Williams pulled a goal back for Wrexham on 63 minutes after a mistake by Liverpool keeper Martin Hansen and Williams netted a 2nd late on as Liverpool held on for the win.

Tottenham have completed the signing of Adel Taarabt from Ligue 1 club Lens after a successful loan spell with the London club.
The midfielder arrived at White Hart Lane in January on loan and quickly forced his way into the 1st team team after some impressive performances for the reserves.
Now Spurs manager Martin Jol has decided to make the deal permanent for the youngster.
Sporting Director Damien Comolli informed the club's official website, ""I did not expect Adel to break into the First Team group so early. We informed him the 1st 6 months were for him to settle down and then we would take it from there. After only a short time he came on against The Hammers and changed the game before getting another chance at Chelsea. We were a little bit surprised it happened so quickly for him, however we also know his skill is unbelievable. Physically he has become a lot stronger and fitter since joining and he needs to remain on that path. We are very happy he will be committing his future to us in making this move permanent."
Spurs have also signed 17 year-old left back Yuri Berchiche from Athletic Bilbao and he will go into the academy squad.
