Scunthorpe maybe without Izzy Iriekpen for their 1st home Championship game against Burnley on Saturday.
But full back Marcus Williams, a reported target for Wigan manager Chris Hutchings, has shaken off a knock and will be included in the squad.
Summer signing Iriekpen and Williams both sustained injuries in the midweek Carling Cup defeat to Hartlepool.
Centre half Iriekpen, who scored on his debut against Charlton last weekend, is struggling with a groin problem.
Andy Butler will step up if Iriekpen fails to make it, whilst manager Nigel Adkins expects to recall goalie Joe Murphy after giving Josh Lillis a run out in midweek.
Adkins, whose side will look to build on their opening day draw at Charlton, has no other new injury or suspension problems.
Clarke Carlisle would go straight into the Burnley team following his £200,000 move from Watford.
The 27 year old signed a 3 year-deal and is a straight replacement for Wayne Thomas, who has joined Southampton in a £1.2 million switch.
The defensive change will be one of several made by Clarets manager Steve Cotterill for the Glanford Park clash.
Cotterill made 9 changes to his side for the midweek Carling Cup 1st round clash at Grimsby, which Burnley won on penalties.
Hungarian goalie Gabor Kiraly expects to return between the posts in place of Brian Jensen, whilst Andy Gray and Robbie Blake should replace Ade Akinbiyi and Kyle Lafferty in attack.
Skipper Steve Caldwell could again be missing due to a hamstring injury however new signing David Unsworth should make his league debut for Cotterill's men.
